Got on lower 2fer1 price to replace H...C In...s (orignal model), but had to take 2-year contract with V...n {i.e., one of the biggest carriers}.
Nice to have bigger screen.
Overloaded with bloatware, but I'm computer geek so for me anyway pretty easy to set unwanted to off.
Bloatware stuff eats cell data unless you watch it. Have to manually turn stuff off, although that's pretty much true in all these setups.
The social media (F...ok) app eats 4G data, app constantly updates and connects. Yes I know that can be adjusted, but why shouldn't it default to "quiet" data saving mode. One other family member in our shared plan got a Galaxy 5 and it chewed through about 1 Gig!! in 2 weeks, due to default apps running, even though they use wifi at home. UNSAT!! (maybe V...n cell carrier problem?)
Loses 4G connectivity frequently while I...fone 5S next to it remains connected. Seems we have to reset or power cycle fone to regain. Cycling 4G/mobile network or Airplane doesn't seem to help regain.
Had to have replaced after about a year, GPS quit working. 1st replacement was bad, had to have them express ship a 2nd fone! This 2nd fone seems to have more issues than the original, like the 4G problem noted above. Didn't have to reset with 1st (original) fone.
Butt dials way too easily, even though I have the cover case on 1 phone with the magnet. Cover doesn't always close square so screen stays on, wasting battery and allowing inadvertent selection of apps. I've resorted to manually turning off screen using one click of power button. Case (a little pricey at about $35 at B' store) only good to protect the screen protector, which it does a nice job of. Our other phone has protective side and back cover and a screen protector sheet, but the latter is crazed and getting cloudy being exposed in purse, whatever.
Some cool features, but pretty disappointing given what it might do.
Web browsing is way slow, even on wifi
Touch screen big lag when web browsing, can't tell if its because processor can't keep up or what. I trim down browser settings, tried different browsers D...n, C...e, F'...x, all have problem.

I love my Samsung galaxy s4 phone. It wasn't too expensive and it has lasted through many falls! I use this phone as a GPS while I horseback ride in the countryside and I have been bucked off before with the phone in my hands. Even on a solid dirt path it hasn't needed any repairs. However, I have found it difficult to connect with my ios-using friends. Otherwise, this phone is an A+ product! :)
Pros: Inexpensive, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: texting: hard to text iphones
I would recommend this to a friend!

My S4 is everything I need and more. I keep finding new and exciting features I didn't know it had. My friends can share content without having to email it.
I can ask it anything and it gives me answers without having to type it in and search myself. I can ask it to call someone, just like my car and it will either text or call. It's faster than my PC. I stream movies straight to my TV screen. It can be programmed to scroll as I read. Handsfree mode is extremely convienient. It does so much more than I can even remember right now. Extremely pleased to the point of looking forward to getting the pro tab 4 when I can save up for it. Whenever my 2003 plasma 52" dies, I'll get a Samsung smart tv, as well, to keep the simplicity and convince of Samsung connectivity.

I enjoy my new phone and learning it's new features. Has been a chore but it's better than
what i had. I used to use a Droid, but the S4 has been alot better more apps great phone.
