Getting Galaxy 4 a month before Galaxy 5 came out was strange: at first I felt like, wow, there isn't that much new stuff in 5 - so I'm in good shape here! But then, after a while, it became clear that the little changes that Samsung introduced in Galaxy 5 , were exactly what was critically needed in 4: battery life, performance tweaks, and WATERPROOF!
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, not durable - screen cracked from 20" drop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great but....

I have really enjoyed the phone but a few months ago I started having issues with the phone sending text messages. When I would try to send a text the message would just sit in the phone and spin and eventually the phone would say failed. I did ALOT of research on the issue and no body seems to have a solid answer on how to fix the issue. If I toggle the radio off and back on it does solve it for a few hours is the only thing that seems to work. Other ideas on the net not so much. I thought about going to a Note 3 but upon doing more research I found what it has the same issue.... I have been a store manager for cell phone companies for almost 10 years by the way.
Pros: Bright display, Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations, trouble sending text messages
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great phone!

It's what I wanted and it, so far, is a wonderful phone.
I really liked the phone, at first. What makes me mad about it is after about 2-3 months of purchase the phone really started slowing down. The texting is messed up, just everything is running slow. I am not happy with my phone anymore. My girlfriend has an S3 and it does the same. It's a shame these devices do this. People say clear your RAM, remove apps, do this do that. I do, and it still does the same. I have the 2 year contract with it so I am stuck with this phone. I'll be leaving in 2 years though for the Marine Corps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is an iPhone stomper...way better apps and hardware. Worked flawlessly for me out of the box and truly exploits Jelly Bean OS.
Best tip: Hold the middle "Home" button down to switch between apps--makes lookup, cut and paste a snap.
Pros: Lightweight, powerful apps, multitask
I would recommend this to a friend!

Went from My Note II to the S4 and couldn't be happier! The camera is awesome and loving all the new features. Samsung has a fan here for sure. Can't wait to see what is next.
