Toner notifications make the machine untenable

I love the printer itself. I use it at home and purchased it because I like it from using it at work. However, the toner notifications make owning this machine too much of a pain. You get a daily notification of low toner being WAY before you are going to run out. This was true even in an office where I did much more printing. I waiting a while before ordering the toner and did so on June 22. So for over two months now, I tell it every single day that I know I have to get toner. There is no way to tell it I actually have the toner on hand. Every time I print, I get a notification that I'm low on toner. Even with that, I might have been able to tolerate this nonsense. But the every 3-4 hours, every single day, having a popup tell me I'm low on toner is intrusive, unhelpful, and maddening. Just to shut it up, I changed the toner. There was still toner in the cartridge, but I have had it. There is no easy way to turn this off, although there are myriad complaints about it online. So, in order to not be annoyed by technology, I just wasted a whole bunch of money (toner being the most expensive substance on the planet) and this is unacceptable. I don't really care how good a product is, it is not supposed to be this annoying just to own it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glad I finally got me one

I have been waiting a long time to pull the trigger on getting a toner printer. I do alot of crafting and some photography as well. I usually have to pay to have prints made for my crafts, now I can do it at home. I wish I would have gotten the one that does that double side prints on it's own. Nonetheless I know what I was getting.

This printer is a quality all in one product. It very seldom jams, prints efficiently and provides me with great quality copies. I have not used it yet on the main part of my job, but expect it to perform just fine based on the use so fa.

Impressive machine

After one month use, I am very impressed with the quality, speed and ease of operation.
This is my first home owned laser printer, and I am very satisfied with the product.

Not my favorite printer

Machine constantly goes to sleep and a print job won't wake it up. Have to turn off the machine and restart it then hopefully will print. It seems tpp lose the wifi connection as well and then I need a Ethernet cable

Prints beautifully

The printer was easy to set up. The print quality is awesome. The only negative I have for this printer is that it is difficult to use the manual feed tray. You must get to the back of the printer, pull the door down in the rear and flip two tabs for the manual feed tray to work. My first attempt at printing envelopes was frustrating. When trying to feed the envelope, I kept getting a paper jam error message. I finally went on line and found a YouTube video showing how to feed envelopes into this machine. You have to hold them at an odd, particular angle to get the roller to pick them up. It took a while to get the hang of it. Also, you can only feed one envelope at a time with the manual feed tray. This is the case with sheets of labels as well. Then you have to remember to flip the tabs back in place and close the little door in the back. Otherwise, the printer will not print properly when feeding from the paper tray.

My HL-3140CW printer

Although I don't use it daily as it's a personal printer it fulfills my needs a 100%. Print is crisp and clean. Still on original toner cartridges. Overall, I am happy with product. Did not rate it any higher, because I don't believe any product is outstanding, but this one comes as close as any.
I would recommend this to a friend!
