Great product for home office; excellent color, fast printing, low toner consumption. A good value. The only thing brothers needs to add is software for showing remaining toner levels

works- no hassle setup

Wanted a lazer printer to print Signage and produce Iron on templates for wood carving. Color printing produces better quality pictures than the inkjets I am using. Very versital printer, fast printing speeds.

Great double sided printing

My family loves this printer. It makes wonderful pictures and papers for school and for my business it does a great job at printing out my reports and charts. I definitely love the automatic double siding that's built in. And the Exter big bonus is that it is compatible with the Apple air print technology.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer is great. Easy to set up and works flawlessly with AirPrint. I've only had it a few months but so far this printer doesn't disappoint.
If you are looking for a great color laser printer I'd recommend this one.

Nice for the price

I like my new color printer but there are a couple of things that I would like it to do better. For example, it isn't great with heavier card stock and the front loading envelope feature can only take one at a time. It's also a little slower than I'm used to. Other than that, for the price, the quality of the print is very good and I like the compact size and simple style. Easy to use.

Brother HL-3170 color with duplex

This printer has worked very well for me. The color printing is not photo quality but good none the less. Duplexing very handy for paper saving. Also my black toner went out and I ordered just a black toner, put it in and the printer recognized it and set it up so I didn't have to reset the printer at all. Overall a very good printer for home use or home business.

This machine seems simple and efficient to operate. The output is uniformly good. The price was extremely reasonable for a laser printer. My only concern, which I'm sure you have heard before, is the price of the toner cartridges!

Wonderful printer, but hard to wake-up

Live this printer. Even the color prints of photos are surprisingly good if you're willing to tinker a bit with good photo paper and print settings.
Fast, beautiful copies, even if i don't use it for a week, the first and every printout is crisp, flawless and perfect in "ink" coverage.
My only complaint, and searches online show I'm far from an isolated case: the printer often has difficulty waking up. I have had to re connect it to the wireless router far too many times (5 min ea time) before it will print. Brother has needed to fix this for a long time
I updated the firmware, no help: my system is Windows 10, 16 GB mem, SSD drives. Robust and excellent.
But msg to my Brother printer: wake up dude when it's time to go to work!
