Perfect for my needs

This printer is exactly what we needed for our small business. Its perfect for office printing, and all our crazy projects, like hot sauce, and jam labels. I'm so glad we picked his printer.

I wish I had bought this 20 years ago when i was teaching. It would have solved me many worries. However, now I can print maps and items that the color make them easier for me to use. Replacing cartridges is straight forward and easy. Set up with my iMac and PC's in the home quickly with no problems. Yes, it is a tad slow on the start but the images are crisp. A definitely to consider .

Fuser Defective

I bought this printer in late April 2013, by the time October rolled around, it was ghost printing and wrinkling the paper on every print. I called Brother, and they sent me a replacement with no problem, well, it's July 2014 and guess what? same exact problem. the fuser is cracking and chunks of the orange roller part are falling off. oh, and the warranty for the piece of Junk is only valid for one year from the purchase of the original machine, not the replacement. bottom line...don't buy this if you want it to last more than 6 months. and by the way, I was using the correct paper and keeping up with all the "recommended maintenance" per the manual. I am going to buy an HP.

Very Unhappy with the HL-3170CDW

Many problems with this printer. After about 6 months the drum went out and had to be replaced. Then a month later streaks in the prints so they sent me a refurbished replacement. Now I'm having printing problems again and have to clean the toner cartridge wires constantly to prevent streaks. Not happy at all with this printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First Printer Broke

This is my second HL-3170CDW printer. The first one did not last more than 18 months. The fuser roller became damaged. Luckily I had purchased product protection from Staples when I originally purchase it so I was able to replace it without having to pay too much. The only reason I purchased another one was because I had over $300 worth of unused toner that I did not want to throw away. The printer itself is quite god with nice color and good print speed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
