Poor Replacement

I received a replacement machine for my first purchase that was still under warranty. The replacement machine was obviously a rebuilt product. It worked fine for the first several weeks however now the print quality is totally unsatisfactory. I have done everything suggested in the manual and on the website to try to address the print quality issues, however to no avail.I have spent countless hours and money trying to get this machine to print with any type of quality whatsoever. It appears I'm going to have to buy a totally new printer for my business and at this point I seriously doubt it would be a Brother.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good printer but.......

Print quality seem very good. USB connection works fine. But after working for weeks I've yet to be able to get the wireless connection from dropping at various times. Once that happens the printer must be restarted to reconnect. Other than that annoying problem I like the printer.

I am impressed by the speed and ease of operation. This machine is perfect for my small self publishing operation. I have depended on Brother Laser Printers for over thirty years. i am proud to ad color this laser printer to my equipment stable. I recomend this printer to any company or individual trying to produce economical color documentd, booklets and flyers. It is the best printer i have ever owned. I print any where from two to two thousand pages a day, and am very hard on printers. that is why I count on the best. I count on brother.

Excellent printer, so far

I have used this printer for only a couple of weeks, but I am very happy with it. The wireless setup was simple. Just connected the printer to my desktop Vista PC with a USB cable, inserted the installation CD, followed the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to my LAN via my router (a one-time task), removed the cable, installed the printer driver in my PC using the same CD - Done!
All that was necessary to connect my son's Windows XP machine was to insert the CD in his machine and just install the printer driver - done even more quickly!
My wife's iMac sees the printer, but I have not installed the driver yet because she wants to finish the ink in her old inkjet printer. I never argue with an Apple fan to whom I am married. Additionally I have not installed the driver in her original iPad. She wants to wait until the next one she buys. Perhaps I can amend this review later.
The printer wakes from deep sleep in about 10 seconds, and is printing five seconds later.
Several Amazon reviews are critical regarding the insertion of print media into the manual feed slot, but all is well if you follow the instructions in the Users Guide. Insert the media until it stops, then WAIT two seconds until the machine grips the media and pulls it in.

I compared multiple laser printers and cartridge replacement prices and this by far was the best for the price. Plus it already had a 5 star review. Love the printer and speed.

Excellent Color Printer

Unboxed the printer with absolute minimum amount of packing material - just took it out and set it on the desk. Two minutes to pull off the tape and shipping straps on the color toner cartridges. SIMPLE! Setup went perfectly smoothly and took only a couple of minutes. Sample page and my first trial page, a photo, came out in seconds. Also printed a page the second day when the printer was in 'deep sleep' and it came out in seconds. This printer is fast! The color is clean, clear and precise and did not smear. It looks just great!
This is my fourth Brother laser printer after 2 B&W laser printers (one 2140 still in use by my son) and a laser print/copy/scan/fax which is also on my home network.

Good Band for the Buck

I bought this Brother color laser printer after finally being fed up with my older inkjet printer taking too long, using too much ink and dealing with paper jams. I did some research and found that for the price, this printer fit my needs, and more. I use it mostly for printing DVD case labels, which I do a lot of. It is fast and prints great color labels. I am not using it to print my photos (I am keeping my inkjet for that) but for everything else, it is great. Only complaint is that since I use A4 paper for the labels, the plastic paper stopper on top really does not give enough room for this longer paper. I leave it down and let the labels fall onto the table. Also, the 4 ink cartridges it came with did not not last as long as I thought they would and the replacement ink is not cheap but it is easy to replace. You just have to use common sense and do not print a lot of deep, dark colors for your labels if you want to save on ink. It has a great menu system which is easy to navigate. For instance, I recently was able to figure out how much ink is available for each of the 4 toner cartridges via the menu system, without having to print 3 pages of the Print Settings any more. It seems to be built solid and I expect it to give me many years of great service.
