Great for the Price

For a color laser printer you can not beat the price and the quality of printed material when using a decent paper for the job involved. I use this on a home network between 2 desktops, a laptop and one tablet.. No problem.

Great Affordable Color Printer

I have previously owned a Brother Mono Laser Printer but decided to upgrade to color. My previous printer a 2270DW has been an excellent printer and my family will probably enjoy it for many more years to come. The 3170CDW has exceeded my expectation and I am still experimenting with the various modes.
The printing is clear and concise and I am very happy with it's operation.

can't beat the price and value

For the price, this printer is great, color is not as accurate and sharp as my 5 y.o. HP or 3 y.o. Oki.

Trouble free on my home network

This is a super printer. Print quality looks like it came from a pro print shop. I've had it 3 months and it is the first printer to work on the home office network without periodically wasting hours running around to all the computers adjusting this and that and uninstalling and re-installing software to make everything work and play well together. I kept my old "all-in-one" around for scanning. After ink purchases, I think this will be cheaper in the long run. Highly recommend.

I am not happy with the service I received from the printer. Cartridges too expensive and now the papers come out wrinkled and I have gone though all of the tips received from you on checking out the machine. Nothing works. I will not purchase another Brother. I am now using a HP which is much cheaper and prints betterl

Brother Color Laser Printer

I purchased this printer to replace my Brother HL-4040 CDN and have enjoyed using it. It is easy to install especially as a WIFI printer. It is fast and quiet. My only complaint as a home printer is the need to select 'use reprint' each time for each document. I understand the need for security, but wish there was a default selection for this option.

Problems out of the box!

Purchased the printer especially for the duplexing feature. Took it out of the box, set it up and duplexing feature would not work -- paper jammed every time and toner appeared in streaks on the paper. (It would, however, print on only one side.)
Called Brother support staff for help -- they tried to walk me thru the repair sequence - but it did not work; was told I had to speak to a higher level technician who would call me -- stil waiting for the call!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
