Nice printer

Fairly easy to set up on the network and figure out - I have a Mac with an older operating system so the instructions were not exactly what I saw on my screen. Good fast gray-scale. Took some trials to figure out how to get the best color. Don't give up, the settings are well hidden but there. (My Mac and my laptop have different OS's and the menus are different.) I was able to get better color than my husband could from his PC - maybe he hasn't found the right settings. - FYI - must plug into wall, not battery backup!

Never use color / somehow must replace cartidges

Hi The Vrother HL-3170CD is a fine machine, however, if you only need to do Black and white prints be prepared to replace color cartridges anyway. LAME. not to mention there doesn't seem to be an override option to use the writer once it decides it wants more magenta, ink. Got to go buy another expensive cartridge that I shouldn't be using, because I only print in grayscale......

Great Purchase

Easy setup and great performance. Both wireless and USB interfaces are being used. A bit clunky when it comes to Legacy operating systems driver installations

Love My Brother Color Printer

I love my brother color printer. It's tax time, and I need to make many copies. Printer works perfect. Different size envelopes can be challenging, because you are constantly changing the size of your envelopes, and changing the print font, have patience, it's just a machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked but then - "Deep Sleep" - now useless

We depended upon this printer for several months. Then, after a toner change, the printer decided that it wanted to go into "Deep Sleep" mode... where it goes after about a minute... upon power cycle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

impossible to print from chromebook!

I have had this printer for two weeks and it will not connect to chromebook. I have everything I can think of. The printer shows up on the cloud and is registers but it always shows up as "offline"

The printer prints well, clear, fast, and dependable for our small business. When there was a problem as a paper plastic clip inside broke, it was sent to me quickly. Good customer service.
