Very Nice Printer

PRO: Works great with IOS devices. Wireless use and set-up very user friendly. Print Quality is excellent. Print speed is also very nice.
CONS: A little on the noisy side but not terrible.
As with anything to do with printing the ink or toner is a little on the pricey side.

Great Printer

Easy to set up... working without any flaws. Just what I expected from my newest Brother Printer. I now have three, two of them are my main printers and one is a back up (which I have had for better than 9 years and it still works perfectly).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible Warranty Service

My fusing element tore up about 11 months of owning the printer. I contact customer support to have warranty work done and they need pictures, serial number, and a picture of the original receipt, although its registered on the site upon purchase.
After the run around I am two weeks without a printer and therefor unable to print labels for my products with orders backing up.
The replacement part is very expensive...pretty much the price of the printer.
I ended up just purchasing a new printer as I cannot wait another 2 weeks for the run around to end.
However, when the printer worked - the quality was great!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Product

I have had one previous printer and one scanner and now the second Duplex printer. I have found ALL of the Brother products to be outstanding. And the icing on the cake is the excellent phone access for help! Brother has vener failed me.

Great machine for the price

It's fast, and efficient. Good color. I like the 2-sided printing feature. Only drawback is that it rather significantly curls paper on output, especially card stock.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Purchase

I have used this printer for over 2 months. It was an easy setup. The quality of the print is wonderful. It works well with our IPADS and laptop. I just upgraded our Router and I was easily able to reestablish the wifi connection. Extremely happy with the purchase. Would recommend the printer highly.

Prints only top half of page well

This is the second HL3170cdw I've had and so it seams to be the same in both so it must be some kind of feature of the machine itself. In printing heavy cardstock paper from the manual front loader, most of the time, the top half of the page looks great, but the bottom looks faded out and grey instead of black. if I opt to print just the bottom of the page, it looks fine. So it almost appears that the toner is running out mid page. These were both brand new printers, not reconed and with new print toners. I've talked with the brother support over 3 weeks and they all tell me it's the paper, but some pages print just fine and 7 out of 10 print poorly. I got this printer because of the front loading and it doesn't roll the paper over, that part works great, I wish more printers would have this feature. the printer has some nice features otherwise and was simple to install and setup wirelessly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
