Really Disappointed

Was looking forward to using this printer, especially for photos. The black only printing is no better than the MFC-7440N. The color printing is not as good as the inkjjet I was trying to replace. It does have two-sided printing. Using heavy basis glossy laser paper the machine is so hot that the paper curls in-half. Colors are not true and they appear darkened like too much heat is applied. Even heavy basis (28#) laser paper curls unacceptably. The manual sheet feeder is terrible! You need to hand guide and push the paper to get it started, therefore the print is out of align with the paper. To top it off when the printer goes into "Deep Sleep" mode, less than 50% of the time does it wake-up to prepare for a job. The printer needs to be rebooted in order to complete the job. On two occasions we had to reinstall the software to get it out of the "Deep Sleep" mode.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Several problems noted to date
1. unclear as to how to set it up wirelessly using Control Panel on the printer only Fortunately my son was here with his laptop so we could connected the printer directly with the USB cable and then inserted the program disc to program the printer My 27 inch desktop iMac does not have a disc drive

2. I use Quicken to write checks and manage my checking account Support was very not helpful Seemly had little to no knowledge

Print quality and speed are very good
I have not had it long enough to know about rate, of supply consumption
Feel discriminated against that I can't use my 3 letter nickname I've had for 70 years
Unable to indicate that this is the first brother product and only brother product I have ever own
I would recommend this to a friend!

Piece of junk. This printer is junk. I am not able to print PDF files in color. I have tried manually setting the print settings with no luck. The drivers are the latest. I can take the same PDF files to any other printer with no problem. I am a teacher and do not have time to surf the entire WWW looking for a solution to a problem that should not exist in the first place. Nor do I have time to call tech support. When the ink runs out it is going in the landfill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Little Duplexer, Ever!

I was a purchaser of Hewlett-Packard for many years, but the cost of their toner cartridges are horrendous! When I purchased my first Brother HL-3170CDW, I was hooked! This printer is small and mighty! I recently purchased two more for others in my office. The price is right, the color is right and it prints on both sides without having to put the paper back in! LOVE this printer!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the fastest, most reliable, and easiest wi-fi printer I have ever owned. Can't say more for a printer so I will leave it at that.

Best Decision I've Made This Year

I had been relying on an old model HP Laserjet black and white printer for so long now, that the opportunity to upgrade to the Brother seemed impossible. Until recently. I love the new Brother in my office. And with wireless, I can safely print from anywhere in our building.

Great printer for small business

I have used this printer for four weeks and am very happy with it. The print and color qualities are great. It is not a fast printer so it is not idea for a large office with many users due to the slow print speed. For a small business or for home use it is the idea printer.
