set up was a bit difficult...couldn't use the cd then finding the correct driver on line took some time! other then that using it is easy, quality of print outs are nice!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The printer is great if you print from the main drawer, but it is truly a pain to get it print from the single sheet tray

My second brother

My last brother printer a 4070CDW still works great after 8 years, but I felt that it was time to upgrade. The new 3170 is smaller, faster and prints a great page. Hopefully it will last as long as the 4070.

Very Quiet, Good Printer

I think this printer is a very good entry level color printer that is very economical to use. I like to set my default color mode to monochrome (for text), and change to color print mode (for images) when necessary. This feature conserves the color toner. Overall the print quality of this printer is very good.

I have only had the printer about a month and have used it very little. I have had no problems with it so far. Text and graphic printing is very good and photographs are acceptable.
I was a little leery about the purchase after reading reviews indicating that setup, especially wireless, was a significant problem. I did not encounter any problem, and had the printer up and running in under 30 minutes.
This is the second Brother printer I have purchased. The other is a monochrome HL-5250DN which I purchased about three years ago. Very satisfied with that one.

Great printer for office and home

I have three of the printers, two at work and one at home. Works well at both locations. I can take pictures with my cell phone and print them directly with ease. At home where we don't use it too often, don't have to worry about ink jets getting clogged up.
