This is the best thing since sliced bread!! I really like the convenience of not having to go out and shop for toner for the printer especially when it is empty!!

Way slower than promised

Setting it up as a cloud printer is pretty straight forward but, will not allow duplex printing. The print both sides box does not display.

Decent machine

I use this printer for home use with iMac. The printer works with iMac smoothly and setting up was easy. Two sided printing really saves paper and storage space. Resolution could be better but it is satisfactory. I have overall no complaints with this machine.

Great small office features; reasonable price

Needed to upgrade to a color laser printer. Already a loyal Brother user, researched their color printers against other brands. The HL-3170CDW is an excellent machine for a small solo office...great B&W performance, and good color capabilities for those times when you need color presentations for important meetings, to replicate color websites, emails, etc.

We replaced our ink-jet printer with a small Brother MFCL 2700 DW laser printer and our first impression was how long the toner lasted. The quality of the print and the savings on toner helped us make the decision to purchase the HL 3170 CDW. We are blown away by the quality of the print and the print speed. We found that changing from a multi-purpose paper to one made for laser printers improved the overall appearance of our documents. The font and colors are crisp, bright, and professional looking. It took me awhile to decide to replace the toner because I was intimidated by the four color cartridges that were to be replaced, but it was a breeze! The toner is more expensive than the ink cartridges we purchased for our old ink-jet printer, but we found that we have saved money because the laser toner lasts so much longer. We haven't experienced any of the problems mentioned in other reviews. We have had no problems connecting to our Wi-Fi, no strange noises, paper jams, or poor quality printing; however, we did find the red color to be a little off. We haven't had to call customer service, so I can't address that issue. I highly recommend this printer to anyone considering the purchase of a new machine.
