ICE MAKER IS LAZY

I love everything about the refrigerator but the ice maker. It takes 5 days to refill the ice bin if you empty it and that's 5 days with the freezer door not even being opened. In the summer I have to use additional ice cube trays.
Pros: Style/Design

All good except the ice maker feature

The refrigerator is great, the freezer works too, but the icemaker is what will prevent me from ever buying another like this. Besides being very difficult to get to, nearly standing on my head to turn on/off, and the ice dropping off the sides onto the floor when I pull the tray out, it does not have a filter! My ice cubes are using our regular tap water, which is full of some nasty minerals. From all I can find out, I will need to put a filter in manually into my water line. This is antiquated and is the reason for my "Fair" rating on the Features.

This LG counter depth refrigerator/freezer was the perfect appliance for our needs. No longer does the refrigerator stick out into our small kitchen, but blends seamlessly. Every feature works perfectly. My only wish would be a few more options on where to mount the door shelves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this unit for about 6 years. The unit has been running great even having been put through two years of rental to several college students. The positive aspects, the unit looks great, the dimensions are true, and the unit is very energy efficient as compared to other units. I have had some noise coming from the thermal valve but it's not any louder than other GE, Bosch, and more recently a Samsung inverter unit. The only real issue I had is the ice maker stopped working as the motor and plastic gear are out of sync.
I would recommend this to a friend!
