Works fine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a Bosch dishwasher from the late 90's, loved it and it finally broke, so time for a new one. While this one has many great new features such as the 3rd rack, adjustable level of 2nd rack, flip down tines, larger space for bigger items and a more secure door, it did not clean well the first time we used it on Normal cycle. The 2nd time, it cleaned much better as I paid careful attention to loading it and used the Auto cycle. Anyways, it had a sort of funky plastic smell after this run and we are thinking that is is still getting broken in.
The dislikes are that the fold down shelf on the side of the 2nd rack does not extend out as far as the last model. Also, for plastic lids, there is not spot with the tines close to each other..
All in all, we like the new features, just not thrilled with the performance. I hope it gets better.

Poor performance in a nutshell

Quiet Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old dishwasher was very quiet so we didn't expect the new Bosch could be more quiet. We had to check several time to convince us it was actually working. The Third drawer is also very helpful for items that don't fit in the silverware container. We have been very satisfied with our new machine.

Excellent product

We were sold on the features of the 500 series and the price was right. So far we love the quietness and how well the dishes are clean. We would recommend the product to anyone. Finally! a dishwasher that makes sense!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher is for the OCD type like me. The 3rd (top) drawer is what sold me. The racks are logical and practical for our dishes and cookware. It actually cleans much better than the top of the line 'Elite' unit it replaced. I like the count down timer displayed on the front.
I installed on my own and was very impressed with the quality of the hardware included and the connection water line and drain hose. Bosch even thought of hose management under the sink. Recommend locating the electrical connection inside of adjacent cabinet to allow for proper depth.

Super duper quiet!

Beautiful and Efficient

Not only does it look wonderful and blend in perfectly, it's so quiet, I don't know its running. Ran my fist load of dishes last night and I could not believe how quiet the dishwasher ran and
(big and here) everything was super clean... no muss no fuss and no steam escaping the dry cycle! I love the extra silverware shelf in particular so I don't need to jumble all the forks and spoons together in a bin. So, I can't say enough good about my new appliance and haven't even tried all the cycles, so more good stuff on the horizon.
