Not perfect, but very good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The review below was submitted some time ago and rejected because it "did not meet guidelines". I received a second email invitation to rate my dishwasher, so am doing so. I see NOTHING in the review following that violates your guidelines. The criticisms I have, if addressed by your design staff, would make this a better dishwasher.
This dishwasher does all that I hoped: clean dishes, decent drying, very quiet. The rack design is excellent. And I like the 3rd, top, rack. The installation was easy, and I liked that everything was included. I think I made the right choice. I do need to select Sanitize option [or set Intensive Drying] in order to get good drying, but not a big issue.
There are, however, several design issues that I think are, well, just dumb.
#1 The touch buttons are far too easy to accidentally activate. And sometimes you have to run a RESET in order to cancel the accidentally touched buttons.
#2 The timer is useless when it is hidden by the countertop, and hence not on unless the cycle is interrupted.
#3 The above makes the “Clean” display useless, too. I had to set the Auto Power OFF selection to 1 minute in order to minimize #1.
#4 Why in the world would the manual suggest using ECO Cycle for “delicate dishes and glasses” when there is a DELICATE Option? Why not DELICATE for delicates???
#5 I have found that using only RINSE tends to leave a smelly build-up in the filter. I have been using EXPRESS, without detergent, to do a rinse only, which eliminates the issue.

In summary, the dishwasher performance is great, but the user interface is not well designed, and could have easily been much better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our fifteen year old dishwasher with this model last month. The washer had an unpleasant smell straight out of the box. I assumed the smell would go away after running the washer. While the "box" smell has gone away, it has been replaced by a rotten food smell. The smell gets better after running a cycle but reappears within a day. The 3rd rack is a nice feature in theory but limits the glasses we can place in the 2nd rack. The bottom rack tines are too close together for anything except plates. I think I made a huge mistake when I purchased this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Best Dishwasher I have ever had!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased our Bosch Dishwasher in March 2016 to replace a high end dishwasher that we purchased in 2008 tht was falling apart. I cannot believe what a wonderful dishwasher the Bosch is, far superior than the high end dishwasher that we replaced .The features offer so many choices to wash your dishes, pots and pans, stemware etc. Several of the features are Eco Cycle-saves energy, Half load option for small loads. express wash-30 minutes or less. A 3rd rack for silverware, that you will love.! I would recommend this Bosch dishwasher to all of my friends and family, and it is the only brand that I would consider!

What an UNBELIEVABLE Difference!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I could rate this "excellent PLUS!" It is, indeed, so quiet that if it weren't for the occasional noise of water draining through the sink, and the "on" spotlight on the floor, we wouldn't know it was running at all. And we've not put a single item -- no matter how crud-encrusted -- that didn't come out spotless. When it was first installed, we thought the topmost shelf was a waste of space, but it turned out to be so useful, it's almost always completely filled each time we run the dishwasher. We've also found that virtually everything dries in just a few hours, and certainly if we leave the unit closed overnight. Finally, although the "half-wash" feature is useful when we need a few things washed right away, we usually wait until the unit is completely full, even if that means some dishes are coated in a LOT of dried-on food. This dishwasher has been a GODSEND. I can't imagine how it could possibly be improved!

Should have bought something else

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this dishwasher for 11 months. On the positive side it is quiet. There are several things that we do not like: 1) We have to hand dry some of the dishes, 2) We have had to replace the plastic control panel as the printing wore off, and the control panel is difficult to use - you have to press hard on the plastic 3) Silverware in the top tray does not get clean unless it is pre-rinsed and 4) We do not like the configuration of the lower rack as it is difficult to load pots, pans and bowls. Overall we are disappointed in this dishwasher.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the Greatest, but it does the job

I've had this dishwasher now about 3 months. It is extremely quiet, just as advertised. Even in the same room, you hardly know it's running. This is very important in the new "open design" of lots of houses. I own another Bosch dishwasher, an older model, and in comparison, the older model dries the dishes much better. This new model leaves them wet, even when selecting the "Extra Shine" feature. I've increased the temperature too, and still the dishes require drying with a dishrag when being removed. I'm not crazy about that. I also found immediately that the brilliant "3RD Rack", which made very good sense in the store, doesn't work that well in real life. It's too shallow for many things (other than silverware), and it limits the height of the middle rack enough that normal glasses won't fit, (even wine glasses to the outside, as advertised). I finally had to remove the 3RD Rack altogether and store it away. (Not crazy about that either). Lastly, they've moved the silverware "basket" to the bottom right side, instead of the bottom "front". This makes loading silverware in the basket very difficult unless you remove the basket entirely to load it. Bottom line, I still like Bosch for many reasons. They're still the quietest dishwashers in this price-range on the market. As with many things these days, I'm just not thrilled with all their "improvements".

Excellent outcome, worth each penny!

I don't need to rewash the dishes any more. I like the 3rd rack as well so I don't need to worry about the chopsticks to drop while washing. Wish I had it much earlier. Highly recommend to any quality-searching family.
