Very Nice Dishwasher

We have heard about Bosch dishwashers for years but were hesitant to spend the extra money. Our previous (non-Bosch) dishwasher died after less than two years so we decided to try the Bosch and we are very happy. We love the features, especially the third rack. It does a good job cleaning the dishes and is very quiet.

We bought this dishwasher thinking it would look good in our kitchen with the other appliances. We love its look, quietness, third rack and how well the dishes dry at the end of it's cycle. Extremely happy with our decision so far.

Quiet and easy install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought several weeks ago. Couldn't believe how well thought out the install was. So easy to level and mount. Then you start a cycle and can't even hear it run. The red light really is necessary so you know it's in the middle of a cycle. Can't believe I have had so many lesser dishwashers before. Why did I wait so long to get a Bosch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this dishwasher for about 4 months now, and still love it as much as the day it was installed. After years of renting, we finally bought a house and replaced the existing dishwasher with this one... this is the first dishwasher we have owned "by choice," and believe me, we researched everything on the market in our price range (and to be honest, we didn't think the Bosch was in our price range to begin with!) We bit the bullet, though, and bought the Bosch based on our contractor's recommendation as well as the reviews we read, and we feel we made the right choice.
First of all, this dishwasher is *quiet*. I can't emphasize this enough. Seriously, if it wasn't for the handy red light that reflects off your floor while the machine is in use, there are times you might not realize it's running! Because it's so quiet, there's a handy end-of-cycle chime that still catches us by surprise some evenings. (I can't believe that the 800-series is apparently even *more* quiet than this one!)
The capacity is terrific, and there are quite a few different ways you can load it (the manual gives detailed instructions on the most efficient and effective loading configurations.) The third rack at the top is one of the handiest features of this dishwasher, and was the big selling point for us; it works great for larger utensils like spatulas and serving spoons that you never know what to do with, but we've managed to even fit small ramekins and measuring cups up there. The adjustable height on the top rack is easy to use and has come in handy a number of times when we've had to clean big stock pots and similar items on the lower rack.
Performance-wise, this machine does a terrific job of cleaning... even if there's still debris on your dishes. It's been hard to deprogram our old habits of essentially pre-washing everything by hand before loading the dishwasher, but with this machine, you really only need to knock the big/sticky bits off. There are a ton of cycle options based on the size and contents of your load, though I don't think we've used every type yet.
Overall, this is the best dishwasher we've ever used. It may cost a little bit more than some of its competitors, but there is really no comparison. From a price/performance standpoint, we feel that we're more than getting our money's worth (especially since our utility bills have gone down compared to the inefficient old dishwasher we were using before!)
