Thank you for choosing to be part of the extended Frigidaire family, blueyedmom8! I would like to give you my list of best practices for a drying challenge: Use the HEAT DRY option, especially in combination with use of rinse agent, will enhance drying. If AIR DRY is selected the heater will be de-activated during the drying phase of the selected wash cycle. This will slightly lower the energy use but will increase the likelihood that the dishware will not dry completely. The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-125 degrees (at the water heater) for the best cleaning and drying potential. Ensure you run the water in the sink until it is hot (like you do before getting in the shower). Finally, is the heater (inside on the bottom of the dishwasher) covered by a heavy mineral or calcium scale (looks like white spots on the heater)? If it is, start a cycle with no dishes in it. Once it has finished the initial fill, add 1 cup of white vinegar to the bottom and let it finish the cycle. Don’t forget the rinse aid (it really makes a difference)! You can also use these instructions (empty dishwasher cycle with vinegar) for unusual odors. I have found that running a few peels from citrus fruit in my garbage disposal (my dishwasher is attached to the disposal), also helps with smells. The water tight seal is amazing on our dishwashers (and keeps air from circulating) and leaving the door open until the interior dries out also helps.
