Great fridge and freezer!

We love this fridge and freezer. We were debating between this one and a more "traditional" Samsung fridge that had the large "bucket" style bottom freezer. We have a LOT of frozen foods (vegetarian burgers, meals, bread, veggies, etc.) and this freezer is WAY better in terms of organization and space. The other "bucket" style freezer just becomes a dumping pit, and we didn't want that.
Yes, there is a divider between the two lower sections, but each side is so large that it doesn't matter. The 12.2 cu feet of freezer space is not only larger, but way more useable than the 7.7 of the other unit we were looking at.
The fridge portion is huge and functional - we were able to put 2 sheet cakes on a single shelf (aligned front to back) and the rest of the fridge wasn't overly crowded. It has less on-the-door storage than we are used to, but I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. The sliding and flip-up shelves to allow for tall items are great.
The design is great - modern and sleek. The stainless appears to be a "sealed" stainless that does not attract fingerprints. The front interface panel is nice - the temperature readouts are great. Water and ice work well.
A potential downside it that overall it is very large and will not fit into a lot of existing cabinets. In our kitchen it just fit left to right, but we had to move up the cabinet above the fridge up about 3 inches. We added some trim to the top of the other cabinets so the heights all match, and it now looks good. It does come into the room a bit more too, but since there are no handles protruding it isn't so bad.
Of course it's very expensive, but we figured that a few years down the road we wouldn't care (as much) how much it cost, but rather what would matter is whether or not we are happy with it. So far the answer is yes!
Pros: organized freezer, lots of space
Cons: pricey, large

Horrible ice maker.

Nothing but issues

fridge worked great the first year i had it but every sonce its been issue after issue with the ice machine. its been replaced once and now suddenly the water has stopped. too many issues.

Purchased this refirgerator last month and wow !
Looked at it on display at Home Depot and my wife and I had TO HAVE IT!
Roomy and optional door can be a freezer or a refrigerator!
We have been looking for a refrigerator and purchased this one because it is not the cookie cutter refrigerator and samsung quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cheaply Made Refrigerator

We've had our refrigerator for over 3 years so our warranty no longer covers the mass of things that have gone wrong with this refrigerator. First of all, this is our second Samsung refrigerator because the first one died after a year. They replaced the refrigerator because there were numerous leaks coming from a variety of spots. Next, we have had the ice maker go out twice in two years and both times were fixed under warranty. Now our ice maker is going out and no longer covered under warranty. Our last refrigerator lasted 15 years and still worked when we go rid of it. Goes to show manufactures don't make products to last.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Calling for service and the ice maker could be better

Had the refrigerator for about 10mo now, overall the fridge has nice features and we really like the Cool Room feature on the bottom door, Unfortunatly we have a service call out as the fridge stopped getting cold. Hangs at a temp in the mid 50's even though the temp on the panel shows 38. Trying the online repair ticket request system...seems to be a challenge as the first ticket has been closed. Usually the online submission process for a company is pretty stress free so maybe I just got unlucky. Lot's of room and the layout allows for good food allocation. Ice Maker is just average, it put's out enough ice for our needs, but the ice maker will jam from time to time. Ice seems to get caught prventing the ice maker from dumping ice into the tray. We have learned to work around this issue. At this time I would be neutral to recommend this model, but may provide an update if things change.
Pros: Bright display, storage options
Cons: Poor quality, ice maker issues

Ice/water dispenser is horrible

Every time we get ice, or water some drops all over the floor. EVERY TIME. This is a very poorly design on the fridge. I like the design overall, the cooling, the depth and space it offers. The ice and water dispenser is really lacking. I would not have bought this fridge if I knew it was going to have this issue.
Cons: Did not meet expectations

ZERO STARS -After 1 year ice maker compartment freezes over and now has stopped working altogether and refrigerator needs to be manually defrosted or ice builds up over coils and leaks water under crisper drawers onto floor. Worst product ever.
