Freezer Not Getting Cold Enough, Ice Maker Stopped
on July 16, 2022

Seems we're having the same problems the previous post describe. There's constantly Ice forming in the freezer under the drawer that's leaking on the floor, the freezer isn't holding freezing temperatures and now the ice maker stopped working. We are purchasing a new refrigerator today and it won't be a GE after this experience. I would have expected to see a recall given this seems to be a design flaw and not user error or normal wear and tear.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey there, we're sorry to learn you've had ice forming in your freezer section causing leaks onto the floor and that your ice maker stopped working. This would be such a let down and it's definitely not the level of quality we'd expect for any of our consumers. With that said, please know we'd love nothing more than to have you in our GEA family so if there's anything else we can do for you please message us on social media. We're wishing you the very best and we appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention.

Too many expensive repairs!
on August 8, 2023
Posted by: EK65
We've had this refrigerator (Profile) for 10 years and it hasn't been terrible but I've put almost as much as it cost into repairs. The ice maker has been replaced twice and it's not producing ice yet again. We also had the back panel replaced (not sure exactly what) because it was freezing in the back of the fridge, then thawing so water was running out the bottom all the time. It was filling up the bottom under the drawer every day. We've always used a GE repair person and they are very expensive. We've put almost the original cost into repairs! It's time to replace and go with something other than GE I think!

Same problems as everyone else
on February 4, 2024

I've had all the same issues as everyone else. Bought the fridge in 2008, I'm on my 3rd or 4th ice maker, they apparently only can last 4 or 5 years and they are all very loud. The drain plug constantly plugs causing water to build up under the deli tray and freeze, so every couple of weeks you have to pull the tray out and chip the ice out of it. I've defrosted and tried to fix the drain plug a few times, but I've given up doing that and will just chip the ice out. I'm hoping the fridge will just die all together so I can get a new one.

Ice under the deli drawer a recuring nightmare
on June 21, 2024
Posted by: Mortimer Snerds
We've had a recurring problem with ice building up under the deli drawer. Our fix was to take out the deli drawer, fill shallow sheet pans with hot water, set them on top of the ice, wait for it to melt (replacing the hot water in the sheet pans two or three times), mopping up the water from the melted ice, drying the shelf and then reinserting the deli drawer.
This was only annoying when we lived in the condo; when it became a rental unit the management company said they could not ask the tenants to go through that process so a service call was required. After the third tech visit (the techs would never believe me when I told them how to fix this but would insist on various replacement components resulting in hefty fees) we've given up. Ordering a new fridge today from elsewhere which provides free haul away. Good riddance.

We hate to hear that you had issues with the area below your deli drawer freezing, and that you were unable to get it repaired. This is not something we want or expect from our products. We’ll be sure to forward your experience to our product team so that we can work to ensure issues like this don’t occur going forward, and we hope to earn your trust back in the future as we continue to improve.

Perhaps these are lemons- buyer beware

We purchased our GE profile SS refrigerator because we were real fans of GE appliances for many years. This purchase has soured us on GE. Our first GE profile was returned because it did not work. GE was very diligent in replacing our defective product. Our replacement GE profile has broken three times over the past three years and I'm sorry to say that we are now done with GE. After writing a letter to letter to the CEO of the division, which by the way was quickly answered, I am now left with a worse opinion of GE. While they are all very professional, you just can't sell products to consumer that do not work. Perhaps GE should admit to this and fix them correctly. They should take a lesson from the automotive industry.
Good luck in your quest to find a great product

This refrigerator has adequate space and features. I am disappointed with the reliability, though. I am in the process of replacing the control board for the second time in four years.

Water filter
on October 11, 2017

I cant believe how difficult a water filter has to be. Ridiculous. I type in my model number and it brings me here, yes picture is my refrigerator, but no, pg 12 does not explain where my filter even is. Its certainly not where you say. Theres something way in the back of one of my drawers but i am not aware i need a screwdriver to change filter.

Poor Functionality

his is the worse refrigerator I ever had. It leaks so the drawer sticks due to the ice that forms under it. The ice maker doesn't stop making ice even when full causing it to lock up. When using the ice and water from the door it leaks and runs down the front of the appliance. I could go on and on however the bottom-line is it is awful. You could not give me this refrigerator! Won't purchase another GE as a result
