Looks nice, good organization

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This appliance is new to me but 4 years old. When we moved in I got intimately acquainted with it because it needed a lot of cleaning. I took out and cleaned every drawer and shelf in the refrigerator and freezer. This was pretty easy to do. Getting the big basket out of the freezer was a little tricky but thank goodness I got it out and was able to clean the mess in the bottom. By soaking the shelves of the refrigerator I was able to get crusty dried fluids to dissolve from between the glass and the plastic. It looks brand new. I like the shelf that flips up and makes the perfect space for a half rack of beer to go. The doors don't close too readily but there is a pleasant reminder tone if the doors are ajar. Not a deal breaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Manufactured in United States

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally looked at GE Products because I read article stating GE was bringing manufacturing back to US from Mexico. This refrigerator has not disappointed! Easy access, large crisper drawers, and temperature controlled deli & produce drawer are my favorite features. We all love the exterior ice and water feature also. Most of all, I am happy to support American made products and American jobs.

This product is not worth the money

We have had trouble with the ice maker from the first week. Now we have frost forming in the freezer and water leaking under the bottom compartment that makes it very hard to open. It has to be taken out and cleaned weekly. Very disappointed in such an expensive product. I now see it is not being manufactured anymore...The only thing good about this refrigerator is that is looks nice. I wish my brother would have told me sooner that he had had lots of trouble with the GE he had purchased, we would have never gone with GE products

We purchased GE because of the style, large size, and bottom freezer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have enjoyed the Ice in the door and the bottom freezer. We had a recent problem with the ice maker which we called GE about. (we have an extended warranty) They came out and replaced the ice maker without delay and it has been making ice well since that time. We also have a profile stove and microwave we purchased at the same time. We had a minor problem with the oven adjustment and a part for the microwave vent which also got taken care of with a call to GE. We have been pleased so far and can recommend this refrigerator. The French door needs to be closed well each time but it works well in the space we have so it isn't a problem.

Was good for the first 4 years. Every complaint that I have recently read online is the exact same thing that has happened to my refrigerator.

Ice maker stopped working
on October 30, 2013

We bought this refrigerator in 2008. After 2 years the ice maker stopped working. In fact the area in back of the frig was one whole block of ice when the repair guy took the panel off and the whole freezer unit below kept completely icing up. After telling us that the motherboard would have to be replaced, we tried just shutting off the ice maker and that seemed to stop the icing up. So, we no longer have the ice maker which is one of the features we wanted when we bought this refrigerator. We now make ice cubes the old fashioned way with ice trays in the freezer. Can still get water though which is one saving grace. Apparently we aren't the only people who have had problems with the ice maker. Definitely a flaw in the design.

Poorly Built/Excellent GE Customer Service
on March 7, 2014

Our refrigerator was 4 years 4 months old when the freezer stopped working and the refrigerator started to get warm. We had 4 different GE service technicians out to replace parts. The last part to replace was the compressor. The refrigerator cooled for about 5 hours and then stopped cooling. The freezer never cooled always at 60 degrees. Thank goodness the cooling seal system had a 5 year warranty. GE was absolutely amazing! Other than having to go through the steps of repair resulting in 2 weeks without a refrigerator (thank goodness for the long cold Michigan weather and a garage to keep food in) we were 100% satisfied with how GE stood behind their product without hesitation. Since this model was no longer available they upgraded us to the next level to meet the cubic foot space we had in our old refrigerator. We have always purchased GE appliances and will continue to in the future due to your excellent customer service. Thank you GE.
