ICEMAKER CAN'T KEEP UP

We recently moved in to a house with this model. The ice maker just can't keep up. It's always empty. Does anyone know if it is possible to install a second ice maker in the bottom freezer for this model?

very frustrated

very frustrated cant fit 20oz or larger water bottled for water fill up, as our family has a very active life style and getting cold filter water is frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it and concerned

We bought this eight years ago and live all the features and look of it. But we are now going through a second breakdown of the equipment I just learned that the parts inside are Samsung product. I was surprised because when we bought a GE we thought we were going to get GE parts. We hope this fix will hold up

Great Fridge - we love it!

We inherited this fridge when we bought our home. It was made in 2010 but we're not sure when it was purchased and installed in the house. Only two issues we've ever required GE to work on - winter wonderful (gasket was loose) and the ice maker quit working twice. It was well worth the money to have the ice maker repaired and then replaced. Love the bottom fridge with the upper tray and the compartments that we can move around depending on room needed. We never dreamed of owning such a great fridge!

We absolutely love this fridge! It is very roomy and we are excited to finally have one that has a filtered water and ice dispenser.

Like someone else here, we bought a house in 2013 and inherited this fridge. Assuming it was originally purchased circa 2010. It is currently 2020 and we have not had any issues despite heavy use. No service calls at all. Not sure if that’s a testament to GE or Samsung. Only one minor design squabble that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. The ice maker. It works ok but is not up to par with other brands.
I would recommend this to a friend!
