Horrible Ice Issues. You have to defrost the unit

The fridge freezes and forms ice in all the back panels and forms a sheet of ice under the deli drawer. The whole control panel went out and now it doesn't make ice or dispense water at all. We have had this ongoing issue with this fridge since we have owned it. You have to basically defrost the entire fridge everytime it freezes up. We had multiple visits and nothing solved the problems. I am so unhappy with this refrigerator and I feel we paid a lot for the refrigerator and it has not performed at all since we got it. I do not suggest GE for refrigerators.

We recommend checking the common troubleshooting issues below: Doors have been opened and closed frequently. Doors have been left open for a long period. There is a lot of wet food (ex. salad) or unwrapped food in the compartment. High humidity from foods, especially warm foods. Food is blocking the air circulation in the refrigerator. Ex: Packages resting against the rear wall. Packages keeping the door open. If the doors were reversed recently, often times the gaskets can be slightly misaligned. Inspect the gasket perimeter for signs of air infiltration. The door gaskets not sealing properly or are torn or split.

Disappointed

While I love the bottom freezer, our ice maker has now failed for the 2nd time - the refrigerator is only 2 1/2 years old. This is unacceptable for such an expensive purchase. After researching other forums, I found out that the ice maker fails frequently. Conversely, we purchased a GE range and dishwasher at the same time and they function fine.

Warning rebranded Refrigerator

This is the biggest piece of junk ever made! It has a major design flaw. Constantly leaks water into the refrigerator compartment because the drain hole freezes over. Had it supposedly fixed 3 or 4 times, still keeps happening. This is Sam###g made refrigerator with a GE label. Stay far away. So disappointed. GE never let me down before.

Ice Maker Issues

I have loved this frig...however hate to report that we are having ice maker issues, that seem to reflect the same circumstances others are having, that I am running across as I am researching how to solve the issue. We've done all the trouble shooting such as water pressure and supply, position of the arm, changing the filter, etc. Looks like it's going to require a repairman....and of course it is within a few months of my service agreement ending :(

LEAKS WATER IN FLOOR

It is leaking water under the deli drawer. It runs into the freezer and builds up ice then leaks down the side and into the floor. It has ruined my hardwood floors. If you look at complaints online, you will see this one A LOT!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fridge will eventually leak under deli drawer and freeze. Then leaks water down freezer drawer onto floor . can not be repaired . Model is so bad it is no longer produced...

No worth the money

I have this appliance since 2010 and it has leaked water under the meat container and has tons of frost on the freezer door have to remove it all the time. Now a piece in the ice maker has broken and they don't have replacement parts for it but can sell you a new ice maker for about 200 dollars.. This is the biggest and most expensive junk I have purchased as far as a refrigerator is concerned. No wonder they quit making it!!!

Make sure you have repair man on speed dial if you decide to replace water filter. Primary reason, builder installed and regrets as week as I Will never buy GE fridge
