They both arrived, black cartridges, and neither one of them work. I don't know if its the cartridges or the printer.

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that your cartridges are not working. Hopefully, we can remedy the situation.
There is a possibility that the printer's printhead needs to be cleaned. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that on the printer's menu. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The power button on the printer itself should always be used to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' so that the printhead is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If the clogs are bad, it might take more than one cleaning routine. If that does not help, you can return them. Our return and exchange process is covered, step-by-step, at: store.hp.com/us/en/cv/returnsandexchanges
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought it inline....got it in two business days...and back in business printing away!!! No waste of gas and time trying to find the right cartridge at the local office supply stores...cost less too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the quick shipping each and every time at no extra charge. Also like the recycling envelopes they always send.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disappointed. Ran out of ink after only 19 copies of Christmas letter.

Hello Shajo,
I'm sorry that it seemed that the cartridge ran out too fast. Unless a cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage determines how long it will last. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage: - Use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings whenever possible, to save ink, particularly colors. - Shut the printer down between uses; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
Also, many consider the XL version of the cartridge to be a much better value. When it appears that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried to use off-brand ink to save money, but in the end I save the money when I us the original HP ink. It is the best, last the longest, and overall great quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Now, if HP printer would only work !! Click print, nothing. 3 days later, printer spits out 2 partial copies. Won't connect to internet, so cable tech circumvented, but that no longer works either. Tried to print monthly calendar, didn't print Fridays or Saturdays. So......... But ink is great.
