Flimsy, not made to last

I've waited a year to write a review about this range in order to be fair. The verdict is in, however, and I am disappointed in the quality of the product. Let me begin with what I like about the oven. I like that there is a light switch on the oven. It makes checking on the progress of cooking easy without having to open the oven door therefore releasing essential heat. The control panel is easy to use. The width and height are good. The timing buzzer is easily heard but not an annoying sound. Overall, the oven cooks my food. Now, what I don't like is the actual construction. The metal is lightweight and flimsy. When I take a roaster out of the oven and place it on top, the top of the oven actually caves in from the weight. This also happens if I have a large pot of water for soup or pasta. The top of the stove has been known to buckle and pop which splashes scalding water. That never happened with any other range I've owned over the years. The drip pans became discolored and unable to be cleaned after a month. Again, they are flimsy and made from some kind of material that does not stand up to heat and use. I am trying to find replacements and I've used them ONLY a year. With the last range I had, I was able to use the same drip pans and keep them looking clean for many years. The outside of the oven gets very hot, which frightens me with my grandchildren helping me in the kitchen. It does not seem to be insulated like other ranges I've owned. It takes much longer to preheat than previous ovens and seems to bake hotter so I've had to adapt my favorite recipes, wasting ingredients over this past year on several occasions.
Buyer beware. This range is not worth the money spent on it. It does cook food, so I cannot give it a poor or zero rating.

Quality has deteriorated

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range replaced one of the same make and model that I purchased nearly 9 years ago. I am appalled at how much lighter and thinner the metal cabinet is, the oven racks bow under a less than 5 pound weight. If you push down on the top center of the range, it gives!

Never buy this product

The burners have an auto shut off feature. Been about 45 min and my water is still not boiling. Trying to cook on an stove with burners that auto shut off is a joke. Cannot fry. Cannot boil looking alredy to sell my 'New' range and bring in my old 70's yellow one back into my house.

Great Stove!

This appliance is basic but gets the job done. Very user friendly and makes cooking a snap. I would definitely buy again. Has an inside light to watch your beautiful dishes be created. Easy lift for quick and easy cleanup. Nice black finish.

Not worth the price

Bought it when our other stove died, this one had multiple stove tops burners break within a month, there is only one coil inside the oven. The oven is small, the oven doesn't cook evenly, i wish we would have gone with another brand, but i didn't make the choice. Would not buy again, not even if it was free.
