Photoshop Elements OLD
on December 14, 2010

From the website and product box it states Photoshop Elements is included. Well it is but it is an old version. When placing a call there is no newer software, you will get version 6 or 8 depending on when it was boxed. Also there is no newer software being boxed. If purchasing and expecting the latest software think again.
Pros: High-speed scanning, easy to use
Cons: old software included

I would have given 5 stars until recently, but Canon fails on keeping drivers up-to-date, which broke the integration into MacOS 10.11. All these nice scan buttons on the facia became in-operational with the latest version of MacOS. Canon acknowledges that this is the case, but don't even claim that they'd be working on a fix. I'm looking for a scanner of a different brand now.

Quite disappointing

Canon has long been my favorite camera company, but the CanoScan 9000F scanner is much less than I would have hoped. While it can handle my medium format film quite well, it does a very poor job with my 35 mm. slides. I might add that the instructions as to how to access the Advanced Mode for scanning the larger format film was exceedingly obtuse. All in all, most disappointing, all things considered.

Good Product

I waited for this product for several months. It is good and it is fast. I really like this product so far. Got it to scan old color slide and old pictures.
I do not like the software. It has crashed on me a couple of times. It needs to show an indicator when it is working. It does not have any correction for out of focus. It is not intuitive.
I can not say how rugged or durable it is as I have not had it very long.
I would add a copy of a scanned color slide or two but they don't allow in these reviews. I think they would want to.
Pros: Fast Connectivity, High resolution, High-speed scanning, easy to use
Cons: software

This scanner works great! Excellent quality. Very easy to set up and use. The only minus of one poins is that if was cable of large format slides or negatives this woulb be a excellent scanner for all uses. (example 4x5 or bigger negs.) It does cater to 35mm and medium format which is nice but one star from great!!!!
Pros: Compact Design, easy to use, good engineering
Cons: neg. size limited to no bigger than med. format
I would recommend this to a friend!

Superior Product worst instructions ever

Had this scanner for two Weeks, It will do anything a several thousand dollar scanner will do, It is not simple to use and the instructions consist of many pages of midium size print. Be prepared to spend considerable time trying to figure out where to look for the instructions for the task your trying to accomolish . Frustrating!!! The indivual task guides don't need rewriting just editing and reeorganizing. Mean while, use your old scanner for the more simple tasks. The only thing I can think fof to make the scanner better is to make it wirreless
Pros: Compact Design, durable, High resolution, High-speed scanning
I would recommend this to a friend!

9600 dpi? 4800? no.

I saw 9600 dpi, thought YES.. then read on to see max 4800 dpi for anything but film option and thought ok, 4800 is great for anything, so I bought it. Even with latest updates, both turned out to be false. 4800 is the max scan, via the film choice and max 600 dpi for everything else. I don't want a pdf, I do image editing. Their software has nothing designed for a fast easy dpi choice scan. I don't care if the image is 3x3" or the entire glass cover to scan, I want 9600 or at least the 4800 as the info page states I should be able to get. (For document types other than films, the maximum resolution is 4800 x 4800 dpi.) With terabytes of HD storage, size is not a problem. Canon FAILs me again.

The scanner produces good images however there is no way to label each set prior to scanning i.e puppies001-1000 so after scanning I have to reopen the an name each one. so cumbersome!
Pros: Fast Connectivity, High resolution
Cons: Slow Connectivity, Difficult to use, Slow-speed scanning
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
