Met my expectations

So far I have been very happy with my GE ref. I love it's design. This completes all my household appliances.....from stove, dishwasher, fridge w asking machine and dyer.....all GE products. Need I say more? I love your product and it's dependability

Very quiet

Six months in now and water in door stopped working, Very simple fix though, just had to leave the door open long enough to let a frozen water line thaw. Found out there is a heater kit that can be installed? I am disappointed that it doesn't come with it. So far other than that it seems like a fine fridge.

Very spacious and bright!

The French doors is a great feature and opens up the fridge space for large trays and the freezer is deep and holds much more than the side by side. We love how bright the lights are and the water and ice is large enough for tall glasses and tea pitchers.

The hot water feature is nice but I can boil water in the microwave in 1.5 minutes vs 5 minutes using the frig.

Really nice with a couple major flaws

There were 2 things I was unhappy with, especially for one of, if not the most, expensive stand-alone units out there. 1 was corrected.
1: Noisy! I was surprised at how loud the unit was. I thought it was a bad fan, but we had service out and after cycling the compressor on (which seems to be on almost continuously), that was the culprit. A separate "noise shield" was ordered and installed which has resolved the issue for the most part. Why this is not part of the standard build is beyond me, again, at this price point, you expect the BEST.
2: The doors don't fully open. I don't see a way, and neither did the service tech mentioned above, to allow them to open fully. Even the pics in the manual show them open completely. Not only annoying, but if you want to take the bottom meat drawer completely out, you'd have to disassemble the door pockets! I may just grind off the stopper numbs, but again, at this price point, I shouldn't have to make physical changes to get what is pictured in the manual.

I checked that I would recommend this unit to a friend, but only after telling them the above 2 items. Otherwise, it's a nice unit, cools well, well lit, the water dispenser is great (the Precise Fill is pretty cool) and the even the hot water function is useful at times.

This fridge has plenty of space, excellent features with cooling modes, water dispensing options, and a hot water dispenser.
