A new adaptation of the comic book story Ironman

4 of 5 stars for the Marvel comic book turned movie, Ironman. The story was nicely modernized to include conflicts in the middle-east and also modern technology (i.e. mobile phone built into the iron suit). The story shows how our rich technology geek got "converted" into the original ironman. It shows how he later got an upgrade by developing his own tech. The scenes around his development of the flying jets is funny and later shown is how the suit is articulated to provide flying control surfaces. The how movie has a feeling of Transformers specially when the chief bad guy builds a transformers style device. Great special effects and a good look to the movie. Downey is very good in this role. Paltrow was not a powerful as she could have been. The only issue with the movie is that it seemed long for its contents. I do recommend the movie and look forward to the next installment. The blu-ray 2 disk set is packed with extra stuff.
What's great about it: Special Effects and action, modernized story line
What's not so great: A bit long for the contents

great price.

Great price. I ordered this online on thanksgiving, because I didn't have time to get on line at the store on Black Friday early morning. However, when I went to pick it up later during the day, the line was so long; instead of having two lines, one for online store pickup, and one for customer service, there was only one LONG line, so I decided to come back the following day to pick-up. Other than that, it was a really simple purchase.
What's great about it: Pick up in the store was ready the next day, even though ordered online on Thanksgiving.
What's not so great: Long lines on Black Friday to pick up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just as Good as in the Theater !

This is one of my favorite movies. Saw it in the theater and being able to see it at home in BluRay, Well... Blu me away (pardon the pun). Downing, Jr. does a terrific job with the character, and it is very well written. Funny, action packed, and almost believable. (Hey, it's Ironman).
Highly recommended for BluRay. I'll be watching this one again!
*note, I gave the DVD extras a 3 star as I haven't watched any of them yet. I'm sure they're pretty cool though...
What's great about it: Awesome Movie for BluRay !
What's not so great: Nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great double disc Blu package. Great movie that flows well. Video and Sound on Blu look amazing
What's great about it: Good Movie Good Picture
What's not so great: May have issues with first gen blu players / no digital copy

The great thing about this movie is that the director could have totally gone all Michael Bay on this story with hours of special effects and explosions . The special effects were not overpowering but enough to satisfied . great story and the cast does a great job delivering a awesome movie

I'm happy that anyone made this movie, even happier that it works and is a good portrayal of the main characters. I just hope they don't totally sell out for sequels and take the comic theme out of the movie.
What's great about it: Good movie, not too far off the core information of the comics
What's not so great: Could be more true to the comics, but still fun.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I loved this movie and love the blu-ray. I have not met many people who were not a fan of this movie. I purchased it on sale and it is one of the only blu-rays I would pay full price for. Definitely worth it.

My husband, son and myself watched this movie. usually my husband would fall asleep, but not with this one he was glued.
