Amazing! Two ovens in one space!

If you ever wanted a double oven and have only one space, this is the oven for you. The bottom oven is smaller than a full size oven, but it did fit a 14 pound turkey with no problem. The upper oven is used most my my family and we use both ovens when cooking larger meals. Now we can finish the rolls with our meal instead of 15 minutes after the main meal. Amazing and highly recommended. Very quiet as well. This unit is well built - very heavy.

I just bought this oven and I'm so tickled with it. I can roast a turkey in the bottom oven and cook pies in the top oven. It's so easy to use. I love it!

2 Ovens the Size of a Single Oven

Love the smaller over for normal daily use as we are a family of 2 and it heats up quickly and uses less energy. Also, great for cooking more than 1 item at a time with different temps because it is a double oven. Love it!

Happy wife, Happy life.

We decided to replace all of our kitchen appliances primarily to get newer, updated refrigerator with bottom freezer and also my wife wanted the new double oven to replace our single oven. All items fit into cabinets with no modifications and the double over is fantastic. She has been very happy with the unit.

good but somewhat disappointed in two features

I bought this oven because it was the only option I had to having a "double oven" feature, in a single oven space. My handyman installed it but my "standard" opening was apparently 1" bigger than the oven so I now have wide openings on the sides and on the top. I also bought the GE gas cooktop (model CG350SETSS) to go with this oven (more on my gas cooktop at the bottom).
My only disappointment so far, to be honest (since I actually haven't used the oven yet) is the fact that the bottom rack, when I slide it in and out, it catches the heating element on the bottom as it slides out so I have to gingerly adjust the rack up and down as I pull it out so it doesn't "catch" on the bottom heating element. As the rack slides in and out, it squeals against the supports and makes the "fingers scraping against a blackboard" sound and it can literally stop you in your tracks because the pitch is so high. I'm not sure why it does this because I've never encountered this problem with any other oven I've used in the past...
My first complaint is this:
This is in the bottom oven. I did a small experiment with the heating element and rack on the bottom most support position; if I keep the heating element pushed down as I slide the rack in and out, the rack "barely" clears the heating element and doesn't catch the rack. My question to GE is 1) why did you place the rack support so close to the heating element that the rack catches the heating element when you slide it? 2) did you not "test" it out before you finalized your models? 3) is there any way I can get some retrofit help so I don't encounter this problem every time I use my bottom most support?
My second complaint is also with the bottom oven:
When I slide the rack out (placed in the bottom most support position), it stops at the door and I can't slide it out any further without repositioning the rack higher to clear the door area. Is this for real? I don't know if this was meant to be a "safety feature" but if it were, it was really stupid because it already comes with "stops" on the racks that will prevent it from sliding all the way out. Did anyone not check this model before they released it to the consumers???
GE, if you are reading this, I would like someone to contact me or reply to this review so I can better understand how this oven is supposed to function; if different than how I explained in my review. If my oven has flaws that aren't consistent with my review then I deserve an explanation!
Okay, so, let me explain why I mentioned my GE gas cooktop in this review. I bought both pieces at the same time. The cooktop's electrical box was positioned in the opposite side in the back (on the right side). (My old electrical cooktop had the electrical box on the left side where my outlet was positioned.) So, it took a lot of positioning to adjust the box to fit properly in the opening. Why is this worth mentioning you ask? Well, when my handyman installed this oven below my gas cooktop, he couldn't use the shimmies on the bottom of the oven, within the opening, to lift the oven higher up (and cover the opening on the top as much as possible) because he needed to lower the oven until it sat literally on the bottom opening, leaving more "gap" to show on the top side of the oven. So, now, I need to have some wood frames put around the oven to cover all the gaps, not just the sides but now the top as well. So, there you have it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
