Great concept of 2 ovens in one size!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love this oven! I have been searching for an oven to replace my single oven and no other brands seem to have this design. I always wanted a double but did not want two large ovens especially when I only need to reheat a few items. This uses less energy and I love that you can use the bottom as convection if you want. Have had it since Oct and it was great for Thanksgiving. Not sure how large of a Turkey would fit in it but we cook our Turkey outside in a Turkey fryer so that's not a problem for that once a year dinner!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cooked a perfect turkey

I used the larger oven to cook my Thanksgiving 21 pound turkey and it cooked perfectly. I was very pleased with the results.

Love the oven, but have one GRIPE!!!! I have to use a flashlight to see the settings for the oven!!!! Why didn't you make the settings so they would light up??
Also, why didn't you make both ovens convection (that's the best for everything)????

The oven you did not know you really wanted

The oven I had bought to go into my new kitchen cabinets did not fit with the fire regulations. Because the cabinets and appliances had come from the same store and were purchased to fit together the store told me to pick out what I wanted that would fit. With the installer I went through every oven that would fit. I chose the GE because it had two oven yet fit in the same space. The ovens heat up faster because they are smaller yet you can roast a turkey in the bottom one. I had to take the display one because that was all they had , but I am so glad I did. It is a great oven. I use it more because the smaller top one is great for grilled cheese and I can bake bread and cook a casserole at the same time. Love it!

GE Single/Double Oven is GREAT!

Purchased this oven for our kitchen remodel. It's been installed and in use for about 3 months now and I'm very impressed with the style, functions and cooking ability of this unit. The smaller upper oven takes a little getting use too. You need to be careful taking items out as it is very easy to contact the hot door. On the plus side the grate for this upper oven slides out easily and as long as you're careful it's a really great oven that cooks exactly to temperature. Both upper and lower ovens preheat very quickly and temperatures are very accurate. While the upper oven is smaller it cooks everything except a large turkey or roast, but that's what the bottom oven is for!
The bottom oven is also excellent with two grates and plenty of adjustability, a convection feature can be selected if desired. The electronic "touch" controls are wonderful and this unit has other great features like a "proof" temperature setting for raising bread and other yeast products and a plug in temperature probe for roasting and cooking. So far everything from cookies to roasts have turned out perfectly.
The best feature of all is having a double oven in a package that fits in a single oven space. That was the biggest reason we consider this product.
The exterior surfaces are very easy to clean. The black surface with the touch controls wipes down with a paper towel and doesn't really show finger prints anyway. So far, with the relatively short period of time it's been in service, it has been a delight to use. In my 45 years of cooking this is the best oven I've ever had!
The only real negative is price but careful shopping will enable you to get this product well below the MSRP if price is an issue.

Great use of space

I have always wanted two ovens and for me this unit works in the space I have. The larger oven can cook a 15 lb turkey thanks to the convection feature and being able to put pan on lowest shelf. My oven was not calibrated when installed and I found that I needed to add approx. 5 more minutes before using when preheating.
Top oven is super useful for most everything and I use it all the time rather than heating up the bigger oven. It does have two racks but when rack on lowest level, it is a bit difficult to pull out so be sure to open door all the way and use the handles.

Love this Oven!

Recently moved into a new house and replaced the single oven with this double that fits in a single space. We had it in our previous home and I love it! This is the second one of these we have purchased in the last 5 years due to a home remodel and then moving, I use the small oven the majority of the time and it pre-heats quickly. Great oven for cooking holiday meals like turkey and dressing. The bottom oven is perfect for the turkey while the top oven works great for all the sides. Best idea ever to create a double oven that fits in the same space as a single!
