According to how my car is manufactured, this device supposedly tricks the onboard computer into thinking the factory radio is installed instead of an aftermarket deck. That's fine and all, but now I have two sounds when my blinker is on, the door is open, the truck is ajar, etc. One coming from the car itself, the other coming from this device. I'm still not sure why I had to purchase this.
What's great about it: Works with my car
What's not so great: I'm still not sure why I had to purchase it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit works as advertised. However, for my '06 Cobalt the chimes come from the instrument cluster, not the radio. This causes there to be 2 chimes now, one from the instrument cluster and one from this unit. not a problem really its just annoying and nothing in the documentation tells you this. I called Scosch to see if you can disable the chimes and you cannot.
