This has to be one of the worst albums i have ever heard, this album is lacking the power of the original "G N R",None of the songs stand out. It sounds as if AXL just threw together songs, without actually listening to it....and his vocals are horrible!!!.
What's great about it: It has ONLY 14 Tracks.
What's not so great: THIS IS NOTHING RESEMBLING GUNS N ROSES!!,Only Has 3 or 4 Decent Songs,t he Rest is Bad!!

This album is the best it could be, which is PERFECT. I love the whole album and it couldn't be a better mix of heavy and mellow. Axl has done an amazing job. Everyone complains about Slash and Duff being gone, but you would never know, AXL IS Guns N Roses. I can't wait for more.

I have been waiting for this album for a long time and it doesn't disappoint. My two favorite songs are There Was A Time and Pr0stitute...I could do without This I Love. The rest of the album sounds great, Axl can still howl. Maybe him, Slash, Duff and Izzy can all makeup before the next album, doubt it, but maybe. This album is definitely worth the money, they don't make rock music like this anymore.

Even though I was way younger to know who Guns N' Roses was, I still can't believe it took this long to come out with another record! A full 17 years!! Sure W. Axl Rose is the only original member left, but that doesn't mean the music is bad!!! He still maintains his powerful voice from the lows to the highs and everything in between! The music is also very refreshing by not having a similar song play one after another. They've really got some variety on this CD and while it may take a few listens, it'll grow on you. It's also very cool having Buckethead help out on guitar for this CD!! His solos are out of this world!! Overall, while to some people this 17 years may seem like a waste of time and over hyped. Also by not being the band they were back in 1987-91, people may also be disappointed. But to me, it was worth it and a release like this may never happen in the media industry again! So own a piece of history!

What's great about it: Lots of variety, Axl's voice, screaming guitar riffs, a refreshing listen
What's not so great: Few soft songs, but it doesn't really matter

I bought this yesterday and have already listened to it several times. the more I hear it, the better I like it. Axl sounds great on most of the tracks. He uses several different guitarists, some of the rifs are good and some are bad. This is a grand production, using what seems like every instrument available on most songs. There aren't any sraight forward rock tunes with nothing but bass, guitar and drums. This sounds nothing like the original Guns n Roses, but is still an impressive collaboration of music. It is definitely worth $11.99.

I knew it wouldn't sound like Appetite or UYI, so I already had low expectations. And this CD came in way under them. The first 3 songs are fair at best, and the rest of the CD is one big steaming pile of ----. Digitally ehanced vocals in some spots, which I don't understand. Axl can still appear to sing, but that is the highlight of this CD. Way to many slow songs, ballads, or whatever you want to call them. 20 different tracks laid over each other with Axl screaming over them. Whatever happened to 5 guys go into a studio and play a rock song. If you want that, I recommend AC/DC. Not this! This CD does explain a lot though. This CD explains the "My World" song on the end of UYI. This CD explains why Guns N Roses broke up. Slash and gang wanted to play rock and roll, Axl wanted to do something else, whatever that is. This explains why it took 14 years to release. Axl had these songs in his head, he kept trying to figure out how to make them sound good, and they just don't. They are missing too much... i.e. rythym, melody, good lyrics, etc. They produced and edited this CD to death. But like my Grandpa said.."You can't polish a t---". That is exactly what this CD is. One big polished t---. And polished poorly. Please save the $12. The people who wrote the good reviews must be so blinded by allegiance to Axl that they failed to listen to this CD. It sure isn't a good rock CD, it isn't even a rock CD. No matter what genre you put behind it, it doesn't fit, it just sucks. I can't believe this is the same guy who wrote lyrics for Civil War and other greats. Apparantly other old band members had a lot more songwriting input than Axl did.

Be clear that this is not another Appetite for Destruction, but I am not sure that is a bad thing. The music is different from AfD, but in a cool way. Definitely worth checking out.

So I'll just be realistic with this review, the CD isn't flat out horrible. It's been so long, and honestly did anyone even figure it would finally come out? I know I did not.
Sweet and simple, it's not a great album. It does not live up to the hype of being prolonged what, 17 years? Most of the songs on it had leaked through the internet over time as it is. There is no consistency in the song list, the sound varies from track to track. There are some songs that are pretty catchy though and even remind you of old Guns, and then there are others that just leave you thinking "...what the heck is this?" All in all it is a unique sound. You may like it, or you may hate it.
Overall, it's here. Congrats Axel Rose, you successfully compiled a list of random songs you had been hoarding and "perfecting" for years and years and put them on a CD. If you are like me, and you liked Guns N' Roses in general you may consider getting the album just for the fact that it is here. If not, you really aren't missing too much.
What's great about it: Well just the fact this Album was actually produced.
