Axl Rose is a genius and anyone who takes the time to write a negative review even before the CD or Vinyl version is not fair. You have a great opportunity to buy an exclusive CD or Vinyl copy from Best Buy. Maybe even buy both like many fans are doing.
Buy the music and support the band and give the music a chance before you give it a negative review. That is the fair thing to do.
If one is a music lover then one appreciates all music. Great music is great music! Great art is great art!
This brilliant piece of art is not about comparing and contrasting Old Guns N' Roses vs. New Guns N' Roses.
It's also not about the length of time it takes to produce great art -- so what if "Chinese Democracy" took years to complete -- it is art and there is no time limit on art. "The Last Judgment" is a mural by another great artist, Michelangelo, on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel. It took eight years to complete. It was created from 1534 to 1541. To this day in history it is appreciated as one of history's most amazing, brilliant works of art, which I believe "Chinese Democracy" will also be.
Artists work to create their art and if they chose to share it with the world -- that is their choice. Axl Rose is another artistic genius that creates what is in his heart and soul and we are fortunate that he choses to share it with the world and history.
Be appreciative that you are alive to witness one of the most brilliant minds (Axl) and bands (GN'R) in history. Many of us young fans weren't around to witness The Beatles or Led Zeppelin. Now we are fortunate enough to live in a time where we get to see Guns N' Roses -- and a band like GN'R (both the new and old versions) does not just come around every day/every year.
This is a once in a lifetime experience. So buy the music!! :)
Rock on Axl! GN'R!!! We LOVE YOU, Your REAL FANS!!! And there are so, so, so, so many of us.
What's great about it: Axl Rose is a Genius and will be remembered as one of history's most brilliant, talented artists
What's not so great: Not One Single Thing.

Axl is not G&R. Album is awful. Only could stand to listen to 2 songs all the way through. The only good thing about it may be his lawsuit so that I'm entitled to a free Dr. Pepper. G&R is dead and Axl's squeaky voice is really iritating without the rest of the band. Its taken this long, maybe he should have waited til he got it right. This one is gonna be a coaster for my coffee cup.
What's great about it: Nothing, unless you get a free Dr. Pepper
What's not so great: Everything.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This has been on the radio quite a bit and it's played off by now but what a horrible album Axle is horrible with his vocals and makes me want to listen to Nickleback which sounds good when comparing the two.
What's great about it: Absolutley nothing
What's not so great: Axle Roses vocals and annoying accustics
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i did have reservations for years. i didn't really like the demos,but even in the past GnR demos don't sound good. I liked some songs better after hearing them live.
Now the finished product is ALOT better than i expected. Now a few songs <There was a time>
if the world, and Better sound somewhat dated to me. would have fit into Illusion 1+2 great. it made me wonder why this took so long.
GnR fans will LIKE this not sure if they will LOVE it.
What's great about it: that it's out
What's not so great: some songs are a mess

After waiting years for this, including going to the New Year's Eve 2001 return of Gun's N Roses, it's here. Axl's voice is absolutely incredible. His range going from high and raspy to low and deep is unparaelled. His lyrics have more meaning than any other band from my generation. My personal favorites from this album are, Better, Street of Dreams, If The World, There Was A Time, Catcher In The Rye, I.R.S, Madagascar, and This I Love. Although we miss Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven(Matt) for nostalgia reasons, the new band does Axl justice. And remember this, he's even better live. Just like Appetite and Use Your Illusion's I & II, I plan on hearing Chinese Democracy over and over again. There is nobody better.
What's great about it: Axl's voice and lyrics, period.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought the Record version because I bought Appetite on vinyl back in 87. The This new GnR Album is GREAT!! Music 5 stars!
BUT,
Has anyone els had problems with the MP3 download that comes with the Vinyl version?? This morning I purchased the Vinyl version, entered the code,, the download only got to 31% before it stopped on me.. tried to do it again but the website only lets you enter that code once. Drove back to Best buy and exchanged the album and when i entered the new code (on a different PC) the same problem arose! IT STOPPED AT 31% . That website must have something wrong with their server! Who's going to to correct this? Beware if you plan to purchase the Vinyl version with thoughts to download the MP3..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
