Well Worth the Wait

I don't know if any album can ever measure up to Appetite for Destruction, but Chinese Democracy is not far behind. Chinese Democracy is a solid effort from Axl Rose. Say what you will about the man, but no one can deny that he is a musical genius. My wish for the band is that we will some day see the "Appetite" lineup reunited, but it's going to take one of those hades freezes over moments for that to ever happen. So far, my favorite tracks are Chinese Democracy, Shackler's Revenge and If The World. Chinese Democracy is easily the best rock album of the year. 5 Stars!
What's great about it: If you are a Guns fan like me, you have been waiting for this release for 17 years now. Axl and Co do not disappoint.
What's not so great: It would've been nice to have Slash and Duff on a few tracks, but it might take hades to freeze over for that to happen
I would recommend this to a friend!

This really is great, his voice has lost a step, but it is still good. There is some amazing guitar on this album. I do miss the whole gang, but an old bud of mine of long ago is playing rhythm now. I did not have any issues downloading the digital that was offered with the vinyl purchase, I don't know if my T1 line had anything to do with that or not though...yeah!
If you are tired of not having any true rock and roll bands to listen to these days, or you are an old fan of GnR then you will need to buy this, don't go by any previous leaks of this release.
What's great about it: I got $10 off my price
What's not so great: nothing, really
I would recommend this to a friend!

Its a good album. It is mastered correctly too. Pick it up on vinyl and listen to it the way it was meant to be heard!

Great Album, Poor Quality...Defective

I bought this album opening day, and took it home to listen to it immediately. Much to my dissapointment, side 3 was scratched up and skipped, right out of the packaging. I returned and exchanged it for a different copy the next day. This one was also scratched and smeared, and skipped in the exact same places.
It's a 5 star album, but it only gets 1 star because it simply does not work. I will return the copy I currently have shortly, and may give it one more chance. But if the next one I get doesn't work, it will be going back permanently, and I'll stick to my cd.
What's great about it: This album is great all around, and a wonderful return for Axl Rose.
What's not so great: It's defective.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i was so excited to get this cd... and after listening to it, it was worth the wait in my opinion. its crazy to hear axl sing something that sounds like it was straight off of use your illusions, to something you wouldnt even expect him to sing,, i mean, hes got some pretty cool beats. and his voice has stayed the same, but he sings a little different on some tracks. but i love this cd. anyone who is a true gnr fan wont be disappointed. i sure wasnt.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: after 13 years, should have been quite a few tracks longer
I would recommend this to a friend!

Digital DL Great! - LP Quality Poor/Distorted

Not sure if the record company Geffen/Universal is aware but the sound quality of the LP is distorted. I compared sound quality to the digital download and to LP versions of Appetite for Distruction and Use Your Illusion II. In both cases, the LP version of Chinese Democracy is sub par. I even contacted customer service and returned it for a new one thinking that my LP was defective. The second one was not any better. Bummer. To recap - the music is great, the LP does not do it justice.
What's great about it: This is a great album; long over-due and a must for any Gn'R fan.
What's not so great: LP does not due the music justice - Digital is the way to go
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
