Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Again!

Chris Nolan and Christian Bale came back to true form in this sequel to the new, revamped, Batman franchise. Christian Bale does a consistent job on Batman, but his voice for the character has been reduced to almost a growl. It's overdoing it just a bit, but the character comes across non the less. Caesar Romero and Jack Nicholson has brought their creative renditions of the Joker (and BOTH are one of the greatest actors in their own right), but Heath Ledger nailed The Joker right on point. The Joker is not a comic character or some psychopathic clown, but just a person who's totally demented and the dangerous part-The Joker KNOWS it. Heath Ledger's approach was simple and to the point, but Heath made The Joker his own.
The story has many twist and turns as Batman including the cops and criminals, are all caught in The Jokers web of manipulation and deception. No one is spared against The Joker's sadistic cruelty. He creatively uses their strengths and weakness against each other to create a chaotic world for his control and amusement. The story has a tendency to drive the point of how people handle situations in the moment of crisis a little to hard, but it gets the job done.
The composition within the cinematography are fantastic although I would have favored a more edgier, more contrasty lighting as seen in Road to Perdition shot by the late Conrad Hall.
The fact that most of the stunts were shot live as opposed to CG added to the flavor and "realism" in Batman. Heavy CG use would have reduced the impact of the character and the story. The use of the Chicago location couldn't have been more perfect as opposed to the "Cabinet of Dr. Calagari" inspired set design of Tim Burton's Batman.
Over all I give Batman: The Dark Knight a high rating and must see for all fans of Batman and all fans of good crime movies.

I got this for the 2 disk and the joker cover. the 2 disc is awsome, there are many things to watch on it. but there are no deleted scenes. there are new clips of GNN "Gotham News Network" that was talking about before the movie.
What's great about it: The Joker
What's not so great: Dont know

this movie is definately one of the best superhero movies of all time, if not the best. u get goosebumps any time ledger's joker comes on the screen, and unlike the past batman films, this one is not stupid and corny like the cartoon- like movies made in the 90s. definately a must see
What's great about it: heath ledger's joker
What's not so great: maggie gyllenhall

First of all, if you enjoyed The Dark Knight in theaters, this Blu-Ray version of the movie will definitely disappoint (this is all pending a nice 1080p HDTV and BD player - all which is needed for a fantastic experience). The detail and presentation of the movie is so crisp and sharp, I would say that it was a good transfer translation from film to Blu-Ray disc. The one GRIPE I have of the Blu-Ray version of The Dark Knight is this: the aspect ratio CHANGES from letterbox to full screen HD throughout the movie. It's probably the most talked about gripe of this Blu-Ray version I've ever read about. The regular DVD version of this movie has consistent aspect ratio while the Blu-Ray version "flip flops" from letterbox to full screen. It's annoying but not enough to make me not want to buy this for my home entertainment system. Definitely a must-have for Blu-Ray enthusiasts!
What's great about it: Presenation is crisp, very sharp, and a great way to boost the hype of Blu-Ray discs
What's not so great: Blu-Ray version of The Dark Knight has a changing aspect ratio. It flips from letterbox to full HD screen throughout!!!

This is one, if not the best movie I have ever seen. The whole storyline is great and Heath Ledger does an amazing job as the joker. No one will ever play that part like Heath Ledger. There is not a dull moment in this movie and the action is great as usual. If you have a blu-ray player than this is a must have in your collection.
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Nothing

The Dark Knight may not only be one of the best super-hero movies of all time but one of the best movies ever. Of the entire 153 minutes there is none stop action and drama. Christian Bale is excellent as Batman and Heath Ledger is incredible as The Joker. Ledger may have played the best villian ever.
