Expensive for a wired device

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the QC20 free when I purchased an aviation headset. I used the QC20 for three days of airline travel (three separate flights with about 5 hours of total use) and a day around my house. The obvious major downside is the fact that they're wired. The apple version did not come with a lightning adapter. The sound quality is excellent - just what you would expect from Bose. The noise-cancelling worked well in a relatively quiet environment - around my house with minor background noise. In the back of a noisy airplane, the noise cancelling was only slightly better than another brand of in-ear wireless headphone (without noise-cancelling) that I use regularly. If you need noise-cancelling for a noisy environment, go with an over-the-ear headset over these.

Hi Mark,

Great to hear that you enjoy the sound quality of the QC20's. These headphones are not exclusive to Apple devices that only support the lightning connection. The difference the Apple variant has is actually the controls on the inline remote.

Excessive 11 Pro Battery Drain

My phone battery normally lasts all day and into the evening - when using the QC 20 headphones I lose 50% of battery capacity in just over an hour. Two stars because I do enjoy the sound but otherwise it was a poor investment.

Great headphones to travel

Ideal when traveling by plane , the use not only to listen to music because the noise cancellation makes the whole trip enjoyable, without the annoying external noises

Good Earbuds

I bought this product a couple of months ago and they worked great but then they broke luckily Bose has an amazing costumer service and sent replacements. The Bose customer service is great. I highly recommend these earbuds but the sound quality is not great when you do not have noise canceling on.

Incredible

I actually bought these over a year ago and never had the opportunity to use them during travel. I took them on a plane recently and was blown away as soon as I powered on the noise cancelling circuitry. Simply amazing! I almost forgot I was on a plane! I hope to never endure air travel again without these little gems. If you listen in environments with lots of ambient noise, these are worth every penny.

Bose QC20 - a bit of a disappointment :(

This is my 3rd in-ear Bose headphones. Prior to this, I had the Bose IE2 and then the MIE2 which were really awesome! But they got battered already due to prolonged use.. Thinking I will get the same sound quality experience as with previous Bose in-ear headphones, I went on to buy this qc20. But apart from the active noise canceling feature (which is really2x great, by the way), I was a bit disappointed with the audio quality of qc20. It lacks that "oomph" which I normally find in Bose headphones.. I'm missing that exquisite combination of deep, full, rich bass & crystal clear sound. Sadly, I want to go back to my old, battered, over-used MIE2...

Thank you for the review. It is always a pleasure to hear from a long-time customer, and we are glad to hear that you have enjoyed the IE2 and MIE2 headphones. However, you should definitely be getting even better sound quality from the QC20 headphones. In addition to the noise-canceling, the QC20 headphones should also delivery outstanding audio quality with rich deep bass and clear highs.

One thing that may help is to blow out the microphone ports on the earbuds with compressed air to remove any debris that may be blocking the openings. If that does not work, there may be some other things to try and we would like to help you with that.
