Excellent noise reduction

I commute to work everyday on public transportation. The noise level can get irritatingly loud. I purchased these for the air cancelling feature and have fallen in love with them. I am now able to listen to my music and block out the world around me.

Best in-war headphones

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product in 2016 and they still work great!! Blown away by the comfort being in-war headphones and the noise cancelling. For a person that loves to travel and spends a lot of time in planes, trains or buses, the Bose in-ear headphones are a must have! No crying children, no engine noises- just the pure sound of music. Obviously when it gets too loud or someone is right next to you, you still here some noise, but overall a great product, especially being that small!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had these for several years. They are fantastic and stay in my ear. I run with them daily and I never have to touch/adjust them. While running, I often make a call and have no complaints about the sound quality. I commute with them and the noise cancelling is great. I purchased these over the QC 15/25/35 series because they are compact and I can run with them.

Outstanding way to enjoy your music!

I bought the quiet 20 a year ago. I ride a custom motorcycle with shortie pipes. I put the earplugs in and hit the noise canceling switch and I hear nothing but the music I've chosen. Great for long rides, taking in the scenery while listening to my favorite tunes. On a 1 to 5 I would rate them a 5. Keep up the great work Bose.

A healthy choice - on top of it all

Having used these for a week now, I've realized another, unexpected reason why these noise cancelling headphones are great: ear health. If you've ever stepped off the train or the plane and turned back on the audio you'd been enjoying during your trip, you'll know what I'm talking about. Getting blasted at a disturbingly loud noise level...which was necessary for even a fair listening experience. But walking down the street, working at my desk or during yard work I wouldn't dream to turn up the volume that far. I'd think it'd hurt my ears. Yet, listening to my favorite podcasts on the train or watching a movie on the plane, it has felt appropriate to crank up the volume...because I've had to.
Trading my latest-generation iPhone headphones for my new Bose headphones hasn't been physically exciting only on account of my ears. I feel as though I've also been able to listen to more of my music. Not volume, but quality! So much gets lost when the content is competing with the environment. There were gentle songs from Mendelssohn's Elias and zesty jazz tunes by Esperanza Spalding, among others, which I felt like I was now hearing "right" for the first time. For how small these headphones are, they are very powerful in portraying the music in its complexity. I always felt that the new iPhone headphones were (too) heavy on the bass sounds. My new Bose headphones seem more balanced.
Lastly, what I'll say is that these also have made clear to me by how much noise I'm surrounded throughout the day. There's that moment when the audio content is still off and I'm already turning on the noise cancellation function. It's like wearing earplugs all of a sudden, when I'm actually just wearing very comfortable earbuds. Earbuds that now can play pure stories or songs for me. All that said, there are times, in the office, for example, when it has felt self-indulgent and borderline anti-social to listen with the noise cancellation feature turned on. In those cases I tried the "aware" function to hear more of what's going on around me and it works. Having the option to concentrate and dive into whatever analysis I was working on at the time or to overhear and join conversations is what makes these earphones versatile enough to keep wearing them in either situation.
Okay, one more thing! A friend called me from across the ocean and I used the noise cancellation function during the call. It was easier to hear him and I felt like the connection was better than usual. I realized it was the earphones that did that, because at some point he remarked that the fire trucks outside my office were pretty loud on his end. And I saw them more than I heard them.

I own 2 pairs, they are just perfect for travelling, commuting, and sound is great. Much more convenient to carry everywhere than larger traditional noise-cancelling headphones. I always have a pair with me in my bag. Great work, Bose !

OMG, The Best in-ear Headphones EVER !!!!

I am a 50 year old female who has enjoyed listening to music since the 80's era when music was music. I have owned Bose products for many years. My 3 desktop computers each have Bose speakers. I have Bose mini wifi speakers and my tv has the Bose sound system. I own 3 over the ear Bose headphones and now I own these. I have ordered 3 more sets, one for my 13 years old daughter and 2 for my work office and for my carry-on luggage bag. Yes, they are expensive but Bose has always made their products with the best technology which allows us customers to enjoy music they way it is meant to be heard.
