too many flaws
on March 17, 2015

Spent a lot of money on what looks like a good machine...WRONG....only 2 months old, light use, and both mother boards failed, needed to be replaced, tech advised possible "recall"; and then the touch pad came apart..."design flaw". The beeper is too quiet to hear, the stove top heats up the whole kitchen, lacks easy convection conversion,...too bad you can't test drive these things. Now dealer won't replace what is a "refurbished machine", bought at full price.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, docstr. First, to clarify, there is currently no recall in place for the NE58F9710WS Range. I'm glad to hear you were able to get technical assistance and hope the issues you were having are now resolved.

We do appreciate your feedback, and I encourage you to refer to the User Manual for instructions on using both the cook top and oven. Selecting the proper sized cookware may help to prevent heat from radiating into the room rather than being used to heat your food (page 38), and the Range can be set to convert the temperature automatically when in convection mode (see page 57 for Auto Conversion settings under the "Using The Options Function" menu).

To download a copy of the manual as a pdf for easy reference, click here: http://bit.ly/108j1EH

I hope this helps you make the most of your new Electric Slide-in Range!

Stove top turns on easily and beware for safety reasons

The knobs on the range turn on so easily it is a safety risk. Twice I had things smoking on the range when the range was thought to be off. If you just bump against it. Others has this problem too wish I checked it out before I bought. Also fast boil took 30 minutes to start to boil - -way too slow.
Pros: split oven
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cooktop and oven have outstanding performance

Only one bad flaw. If you boil over a pot on the stove top, the liquid can run down over the front of the stove and get in between the two sections of glass on the oven door. This requires removing the door and dismantling it to clean the glass. It takes a good hour or so to do this process. Fortunately, there are some good videos on You Tube that show you how step by step. A good feature is the placement of the stove burner knobs that don't interfere with cooking. If you look at other brands you will notice most have knobs sticking up in front which are in the way for putting pots and pans on and off the cook top.
Pros: Bright display, Durable

I had no idea when I purchased this oven how amazing it would turn out to be. It not only looks beautiful and luxurious but it cooks food extremely evenly, both on the stove-top and in the oven. I'm blown away each time I use it (which is daily). I highly recommend this oven to a beginner and a seasoned cook.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display

The perfect cook

I'm in love with my Flex Duo electric range. More than giving a sweet touch of modern kitchen, it makes the life just more easier. With the self-cleaning cycle, there are no more worries at the time of making the best Puerto Rican dishes in the oven and the cleaning after. This is the MVP of all the electric ranges.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, easy to clean

A beautiful oven with limitations
on July 29, 2015

This oven caught my eye because it was a slide-in and had two ovens but I did not realize the limitations you have with the cook top and the oven without a heating element at the bottom.
I like the display. It is functional and responsive. The oven and range have a fan that runs continuously when in use. Not too loud but may be a factor for some. The timer alarm may be a bit faint, bit is fine for me.
After over one year of use, it seems that the oven does not hold the temperature selected. This has been proven time and again as I have learned to dial up the temperature and extend cooking time. In addition, when I have had to raise the temperature during cooking, the display will frequently register a temperature of 25-30 degrees F lower than selected. Convection is a different animal that requires getting used to. Certain things cannot be cooked this way. If you like baking pies, forget about this oven. It will not cook a crust properly.
The electric cook top is generally OK but again, limitations if cooking sensitive sauces because response is slow and sometimes erratic when a number selection is made.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, great design
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Bake4fun,

Thanks for the feedback! Fortunately, there are some solutions that will likely help to improve your experience baking with the NE58F9710WS Range. First and foremost let me clarify: this oven does have a heating element in the bottom, but it's hidden beneath the floor of the oven. Of course it isn't effective when baking in the upper oven, but if you bake a pie in the lower oven, or in the full oven in Single Oven mode, the crust should come out as intended. When using the upper oven alone, you can select the Convection Bake mode to circulate the heat generated by the Broil element, but of course there's no direct heat source from below.

Regarding the temperature, I would suggest referring to the section on pages 57-58 in the User Manual for adjusting the temperature of the oven. As explained there, the temperature is calibrated at the factory, but if you find it's running either too hot or too cold, you can correct it by adjusting the thermostat ±35°F.

I hope these suggestions help to improve your experience. Thanks for choosing Samsung!

this is the best oven I have ever owned

I have owned this oven for 9 months now. I just cooked a full Christmas turkey dinner using it. It was the first time I used all the features including the warming drawer, the burner bridge, and the convection roast feature. Everything was cooked to perfection and served hot, including having very warm plates to serve the food on! The duoflex oven feature is amazing for 2 people but the full size oven is incredibly spacious for a self cleaning oven and convection oven. Bigger than my old non self clean and non convection oven from 20 years ago. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. My only criticism is the digital control panel on the front that I occasionally touch without intending to and the warming drawer comes on accidentally. Pretty minor issue.
I would recommend this to a friend!
