What a cool soundtrack this was! The first thing I noticed was the mix of recognizable groups and songs and some mewer songs thrown in too!! It was a little slow at times but that is ok too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This soundtrack is the best soundtrack I have heard since Top Gun. It has a great mixture of old and new songs as well as songs about love and heartbreak. I can't stop listening to it!
What's great about it: Wonderful Mixture of Old and New Songs
What's not so great: nothing

Great mix of talent on one album

I was very interested in getting this soundtrack because of the artists featured on it. I'm not afraid to admit that I'd heard a lot about such bands as My Morning Jacket, Wilco, and The Tings Tings but I was not familiar with any of their music or styles. So this soundtrack was a great education for me. And I'm happy to report that I was not disappointed with what I heard from each of these groups. I'm eager to get more music from these artists.
The surprise track for me was Scarlett Johansson's "Last Goodbye", the styling is very much like of Norah Jones, an all time favorite singer of mine. I also very much enjoyed Tristan Prettyman's "Madly", that one can stick in your head for awhile, in a very good way. Old favorites from The Human League, R.E.M., Talking Heads, The Replacements and The Cure add nostalgia and give the album a retro feel.
If you're looking for a good mix of great music familiar and new, this album definitely fits the bill.

This will definitely be my go to CD for the summer. Perfect for driving with the windows down, or dancing in the kitchen while making dinner. Love it!

Great CD!

Remember that mix tape or CD you and your best friend made back during the best summer ever? That's exactly what I thought of when listening to this. It's a great mix of music, with a bit of everything, so it's perfect to put on when doing chores or going on a long drive. I really loved the mix of new (love Lily Allen!) and classic, so there's something to sing along to before you've listened to it enough to sing along to the rest. The only track I wasn't a fan of was Scarlett Johansson's cover of "Last Goodbye", which while listenable wasn't anything special. Stick to acting ScarJo! Overall, great CD which is going to be in heavy rotation for quite a while.
What's great about it: Good mix of music
What's not so great: last track suffered in comparison to the rest

Great Movie Great Soundtrack

I like the mix of old and new songs that were picked for the soundtrack. The movie was great, and the songs go right along with it. Some artists I’ve never heard of before, and some artists I’ve been a fan of for years. Even the Scarlett Johansson song “last goodbye” isn’t that bad. Great soundtrack, great movie, highly recommend.

I love the way this cd starts out. A good funk, and talking about summer, cause it is February and COLD! Corrine Bailey Rae sets the tone correctly. Honestly there aren't too many songs on here that I haven't heard before but I adore each one. It is almost like a mix tape that a good friend would make for you to cheer you up. I know My Morning Jacket is exactly a household name yet but they should be, or Wilco for that matter. (goodness they both RULE FACE!) I could honestly do without Maroon 5 and their song on this soundtrack didn't help my dislike for them at all. I will admit I was nervous about little hottie Scarlett doing my man Jeff Buckley's song, Last Goodbye, just by how much the press had butchered her when her CD came out. I thought she did it BEAUTIFULLY! I was very impressed. Buckley was a beautiful singer songwriter and I was scared, but I applaud her!
My dogs LOVE the Talking Heads' This Must Be the Place, But I am sure they have heard their mama play it before. If you don't like that talking heads, you might need your head examined. ;-)
Overall I give this a a fantastic. Keep me happy and satisfied as I ran my errands!
