Seriously? This movie was long and drawn out with overused and tired romance plots. The only problem is that it doesn't do it in any unique way. Oh great, the boyfriend is a vampire! Whoopie! Water down Ann Rice to satisfy the Harry Potter fans more please. While its great that this helps promote books, there is nothing unique about this. Just more pointless and overly long mooning between two people.

If you read the books then this movie sucks. There is so much more in the book than just the love story between Bella and Edward. In the movie there are verry main carectors that do not even get introduced. The acting in the movie was not that great ether. And the hole movie had a blue look to it. I understand that the place that they live was always cloudy but that dusn't mean that it has to always be blue and feel like such a depreased movie. The books did not make me feel depreased but the movie did.

I really don't know what every one else is talking about. I think they did a great job in casting Edward and Bella, from the moment that they meet each others eyes in the school cafeteria, you can just feel the personal tension between them. It is a wonderful movie, and just because its about vampires does not mean that they have to have fangs. So get over it! I was on the edge of my seat during the whole movie and I usually don't like movies like this, my Husband was shocked when I said I had to buy it on blu ray. (I usually don't bother with buying movies) but this one I had to have!!! Can't wait to see the other three movies, I'm sure they will soon be in my very limited edition of Movies I own!
What's great about it: The connection between Edward and Bella

You have to treat the book and the movie as two separate entities - the movie is an ADAPTATION of the book. If you go in thinking it will be 100% faithful, you will be disappointed.
That said, I really enjoyed the movie. Will it win any awards? No (makeup, maybe). However, if you love romances set in lush locales and set to haunting music, then this movie is for you.
I really liked Rob Pattinson's interpretation of Edward. I could see Bella falling for him. I wasn't in love with Bella's portrayal, but that is due to the combination of the material and the actress chosen to play her. I think it's more material, though - or maybe direction.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable movie. I recommend reading the book first, though, if you haven't already.
What's great about it: Chemistry between the two leads, the locations, the soundtrack (music)
What's not so great: Acting a bit stilted, strays from the book in many parts, some choppy editing

Movie was ok. Spent too much money on glitter, and not enough on the rest of the movie. Still decent, but looking forward to the New Moon and a bigger budget.
What's great about it: If you love the book, you should like the movie
What's not so great: low budget = not so great everything

I love this movie! At first I wasn't sure how I felt about it - but once I bought it and was able to watch it at home (without all of the screaming teenagers!) I realized just how well-made it is. It does a good job of taking important parts from the book and bringing them to life. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life; as do all of the actors who play in this movie. You can tell that their hearts were really in their roles!
The one thing that I have learned from reading books that later turn into movies: You cannot go to the movie and expect it to be as good as the book. If that happened, then the book wouldn't be good anymore! I always want the book to be better than the movie. The movie is just an accessory that goes really well with a book that is exceptionally well written. If the movie makes more people interested in reading the book, or if it makes you want to get out your book and read it again, then the movie played its part well! This movie definitely did its job! I can't wait to see the next movie!!
