Not familiar with the Twilight phenemenon? Twilight is a book series written by author [extrodinaire] Stephenie Meyer about a girl who falls in love with a vampire and the struggle of their relationship as he is conflicted by his desire to be with her and his desire to taste her blood. This Disc is the film adaptation of the first book in the series.
As someone who's not only read these books several times and spent well over the price of this disc in the theatres seeing the movie, this is THE chick-flick-keeper-movie of the 21st century! I can only say that the thought of seeing all these beloved characters in HD is worth the price of upgrading. Haven't seen the "big deal" of HD, talk to the Geek Squad !
Why go Blu? Well, if you're stilling listening to cassette's in your car radio this probably isn't a big deal, but for the tech-saavy or the extremely lucky, Blu ray movies really do bring the theatre experience to your home.
Why buy here? Best Buy is one of two stores that will be carrying this format for the March 21st release.
What's great about it: Robert / Edward in HD!
What's not so great: The special edition isn't available until MAY?!

As I expected, I was thoroughly unimpressed with this latest "vampire movie sensation." Granted, I wasn't exactly walking in with high hopes--I've already seen "Near Dark," which can be argued as the penultimate modern vampire movie. Though I will admit some of the movie trailers prior to the theatrical release made it look somewhat intriguing, the subsequent commercials about the DVD release made it look like a campy piece of teenage trash. And, well, it was.
Before you argue with my point of view, I will admit right now that I did not devote my full attention to the film. I couldn't, because I don't think I would've survived the inevitable concussion I would've suffered when I collapsed from sheer boredom. The horrible dialogue alone was enough to make me cringe, not to mention the painfully slow story and snail-like pace of character development. However, I was actually pretty impressed with the level of character development in this movie, at least in comparison to the sheer lack thereof with most Hollywood movies, so that was a bit of a boon for the film. Aside from that, this was a movie about awkward teenagers being awkward. *GASP*
What really killed me, though, is that almost NOTHING HAPPENS throughout the entire movie. Let me break it down for you: girl moves to new town; new town is boring; girl meets cute boy at new school; boy is vampire and wants to eat girl; girl wants to hug and cuddle boy who happens to be vampire; boy decides not to eat girl; boy and girl fall in love; other vampires try to kill/eat new girl; other vampires fail. Aside from the few action scenes scattered throughout, this film is a major snoozer. The only intriguing part is where you get to see what Edward looks like in the sun: sparkly. Though why this is is not explained, it's the only thing that really stuck with me. That, and how lame the whole "vampire venom" bit is. I mean, come on, vampires have "venom"? Um, no, sorry, that's called "saliva," because actual "venom" is stored in glands in the mouth. If it had been explained that a vampire's saliva is like venom, okay, fine, but no, vampires have "venom." LAME. I'm thinking the only way to actually like this movie is to not be a guy.

Honestly, the first book I read was actually one of the first books I have ever read completely in my life. I got hooked off the first book and read the rest and now I'm into reading.
But, the movie Twilight was adapted very well from the book. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson have one of the best on-screen chemistry I have ever seen in a long time. This film is very enjoyable for anyone and it's done fantastically. I recommend anyone to consider watching this movie if you haven't already.
What's great about it: actors, story, and...it's "Twilight"

I am absolutely obssesed with this movie. I watch to over and over again. I love it. I do wish they would stay in line with the book but it is still great. I even love the music choosen for the movie. I also bought the soundtracks, they are great too. I would advise every one to read the saga because it is beautiful complelling, and jaw dropping. You will be captured, unable to to put the book down.
What's great about it: Everthing
What's not so great: The fact that they didnt go in depth about the main character's relationship, it wasn't long enough to capture everythin

I saw this movie once and said "wow" another bad love story that's hyped up again. The acting was really bad the plot to me was just awful it should've been a straight to dvd movie. In short if your a fan of the main character and nothing else its great if not then its just terrible.
What's great about it: Nothing except for those ladies who think hes hot.

I have read the books... I have watched the movie... Never have I been so confused about how some company would spend money to publish or create something this terrible. I appreciate romance novels and vampire novels. I watch all genres on movies, from the chick-flick 'Failure to Launch' to ' hardcore action movies like 'Shottas.' But these books and this movie fit nowhere in our society. They don't make you think, they aren't funny, they aren't heart warming. They are dry, boring, elementary, and the actors can't act. I feel that this movie is good for no one. For the people that think young teenage girls would like it, I say 'NAY!' to you, sir. Nobody in fact likes this franchise, they only see the sparkly, glittery, vampires and get sucked into a void that they cannot be released from.
