Respiratory issues necessitated this purchase. Just picked up yesterday. So far so bad. Why would it be shipped with one filter when two are needed for proper operation? I'll update review when I receive the filter I ordered today from Honeywell. I'm disappointed that this fact was not disclosed in the product description.
What's great about it: It is quiet on low fan speed
What's not so great: 1 instead of 2 filters
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Its not worth the money. 1st week after i bought the product, it just stopped working (it turned off and never came back on). I went back to best buy to do an exchange, and received a new one same day. The 2nd machine also stopped working within 5days. The product was amazing while it was working but its just upsetting that it doesnt last long as what the warranty advertises.
What's great about it: easy to set up.
What's not so great: noise

Very noisy at high speed, It is obvious that it cleans the air, removes odors...etc but for the price there are cheaper units that work equally well. If you truly need state of the art filtration nothing will replace a whole house system installed by a competent HVAC contractor but if you are just looking for odor minimization and clean air in small spaces than this will do the trick.
What's great about it: Nice combination of features.
What's not so great: Price way too high.

After about 6 months of use (and regular cleaning) the purifier became extremely noisy. I bought it because it said it was "whisper quiet"
I even spoke with the customer service supervisor at Honeywell and they only thing they can offer is a replacement appliance. Why would I want the same thing that will end up being just as noisy most likely?
I can not recommend this product at all.

Remember to buy for your room size and you will be set. This unit does a fine job. We are having some construction to the house done and it takes care of the extra dust and smells of the new lumber. Though that is not what it was made for I feel it would be a hard test for most to pass.
What's great about it: Doe's what it should.
What's not so great: nothing so far

I just bought two of these air purifiers a few weeks ago and they are awesome! We need one for the nursery to help clean the air and elimate smelly diapers. We also needed one for our bedroom to help with allergies and the fact that we live in an old house and it's musty.
So far we can notice a huge difference in the quality of the air. The white noise is also very nice at night for both our kids and us. I also like the digital interface and the sleek black design.
I definitely would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice purifier that is not too expensive!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just bought this purifier this evening. I have only had in running for a few hours and I can already feel a difference. I have bad asthma and bad allergies and I really think this is going to help a lot! Great product and although a little spendy, well worth the money! I'm going to pick up a second one for my room!

I bought two of these units to assist in ridding two bedrooms of stale air and hopefully help to prevent my two year old twins from getting ill from junk in the air in their rooms. My wife and I noticed a "cleanliness" in the air shortly after gettin the units in place. By looking at the filters on them, there is no doubt that we are cleaning the air. Pet dander is an issue for us with two German Shepard dogs. UV light was the big seller, I choose not to use the ionizer.
What's great about it: Cleanable filter and UV light.
What's not so great: Price for two units.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent product. Very easy to set up, with quick, noticeable results. Very quiet ... can barely be heard on lowest setting. The highest setting is certainly noticeable, but still not very loud compared to other common urban background noises like air conditioners, central heating/AC, fans, and normal traffic levels.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, works very quickly

I had it out of the box and working within 5 minutes. I noticed the air in the room smelled fresher within a few minutes. I have pretty bad seasonal allergies and this purifier has really helped me out!
What's great about it: Quick to set up and easy to use.

Overall I realy like this product. I did return the first one I got because it was a bit louder than I had anticipated based on the reviews I had read. If you want well built product that has minimal ongoing costs this would be it. I love that fact that I never have to buy other filters. Also it comes with the standard pre filter and 2 of the odor pre filters. I am only using the standard for now and am saving the other for when I might really need them.
What's great about it: It has no ongoing filter expense. It has all the feature you need and for a good price.
What's not so great: Not as quiet as I had read in other reviews, but I don't mind the higher settings in order to get clean air.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The fan is extremely noisy on all levels, kind of like hearing a lawn mower through closed windows. There was absolutely no whisper quiet feature to this item. We tried removing and replacing filters, changing all settings, but it was never quiet. We are returning it.
What's great about it: Nice size, sleek style
What's not so great: NOT whisper quiet at all, on any level , and too expensive for what it is.

would love a timer function, so I dont have to remember to change it to HI at night.
What's great about it: Works great on pet odors. I have much less dust particles in the air.

It's been a rough few months with colds, flu's, sinus infections, etc. I bought this the other day in hopes of reducing the number of air-quality related issues. We have two adults, five children, a big dog, and a cat in our home. After running this unit for a few days now, I'm breathing easier. I know it's not meant to cover an entire house (mine is about 2000-sq. ft.), but I'm using it as though it is. It is working, and it's not too loud at all. I'm curious as to how soon I'll need to clean the filter based on our usage, but I'm really glad that they're cleanable instead of having to replace them.
Overall, I would highly recommend this unit. I can't compare it to others, because I haven't tried them, but this thing is working really well for us.
What's great about it: It's quiet, works really well, you can turn on/off features you want or don't want to use...
What's not so great: I wish they weren't so expensive so I could get another one... but they are worth it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ok, so this is my Second review, I gues BBY didn't like my first review which was a review of someone's review....i'll get to that. First, my review is: I bought 2, one for the lving area, and 1 for the bedroom. They seem to work, or so says the wife, but I still sneeze, so there's a problem somewhere with my allergies, that's another review for another time. As for these, sure I can't complain, other than i spent $400 for them, and I still sneeze :o) So, as I mentioned this is my 2nd try at this review. I critiqued someone from MN, as he/she said these were Super Great cuz they were made in MN by Honeywell, "helping the local economy" and that ionizing the air was super...although it makes your air 'sweet' or seemingly humid. First these are made by KAZ a Massechusettes company-NO LOCAL MINNESOTA ECONOMY HERE! And as far as ionizing the air and making NEW AIR (I think that's what she wrote) she abviously didn't do her homework. This features an ionizer, and a UV light. Now, when you ionize air you create ozone (charging the air with a position electron stealing 1 oxygen from the other oxygens floating around) now the UV, will break up 1 electron thus depleting the ozone by stealing or seperating it from the O3 which was created by the ionization (remember that sweet smell to the air, like a humid smell, yeah that) and this is what she called new AIR, whatever!. This really isn't the case when your working with the same AIR!!! In my first critique or review, I said buyers don't believe everyting you read, find out for yourself, and take these reviews with a grain of salt. After all they are just 'opinions'.....you know the deal! Thanks for reading, and go buy one even if you don't need one....HELP OUT THE MASSECHUSETTES ECONMOY, they Need it!!!

2 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog, LOTS of dust and dander. My wife and I waited for this unit to go on sale for $199.99 and snapped it up. I was skeptical at first but WOW what a difference! This unit really eliminates alot of pet dander in the air and I have noticed a huge difference in my breathing. It has 12 different levels of power. We leave it at 3 (12 being the highest) during the day and only 1 at night. This is more than enough cleaning power for us in a medium sized room! I can't imagine what the full level 12 would do (maybe during a crowded house with people smoking). The unit comes with 2 odor eliminating filters which returns a real nice fresh clean feeling in the air. Also, the unit oscillates to blow clean air around the room. The unit is very quiet up to level 3 or 4 but after that, it gets louder by the level. Not a big deal by any means though. All in all, VERY pleased so far!
What's great about it: Lots of bells and whistles, CLEAN air

I guess you get what you pay for. We have a crawl space that although is not horrible smelling it does have a bit of that musty odor in the house, my wife is ultra sensitive to it so we got one of these, I was extremely skeptical but it works. I also have mild asthma and I noticed that I cough a lot less too, I hate it when my wife is right...
What's great about it: Best working I have seen
What's not so great: wow, what a price

I live with someone that smokes and this unit has been a great asset for me. I can turn the unit on full power and in minutes the smoke has cleared the room. I leave it on low and it keeps the smoke out. The air that comes out of the unit has that fresh smell. I have used it to eliminate food and other household odors with no problem. You don't have to buy new filters...just vacuum the ones that came with it and you good to go.

I'm like some of the previoius folks that live in an apartment where neighbors smoke somehow drifts in my dwelling. My wife and I are not smokers and we had concerns about our 2 year old. I researched and bought this purifier based on ratings. I would have given the product a higher rating, but it didn't perform as expected for getting rid of the smoke smell. I am very sensitive to smoke and after running the air purifier for over 12 hours it still didn't get rid of it. Maybe the machine is performing like it's supposed to or the smoke smell is coming into my apartment at a greater rate than the unit can handle. I will agree that this unit comes full of nice features that my previous ionic breeze didn't have. I like the fact it has a pretty good fan, prefilter, and two hepa filters that can be cleaned. The UV lamp looks like it can be replaced as well by a pull out tray. The noise level is acceptable, but I wouldn't consider it whisper quiet unless it's on a low setting. The oscillation is great too for moving the clean air around. Prepare to feel cooler with it as it acts like a fan. The controls are simple and easy to read. Overall, the unit does a good job, but not worth 5 stars. I also think it's a little pricey.

What's not so great: Doesn't get all the smell out
