The tv is working well... Although I don't use HD broadcasting normal tv is fine on it... My dvd player works extremely well with it and looks beautiful and I don't need to use the speakers ever but from what I have heard from them they sound perfectly fine. My only complaints is they didn't put enough screws in the box for mounting it to the swivel stand and the remote doesn't work for the first five minutes the tv is on... I don't understand why that is but other than these two minor problems the tv is everything I was looking for. Next I'm thinking about the blue ray/surround combo samsung offers.
What's great about it: Excellent picture, cost is low
What's not so great: Remote, not everything came in box

I've have the TV for about 6 weeks and it works great. Basicly all I did was plug it in and scanned for channels and it was ready to go. I have basic cable and with the scan the TV also picked up over the air channels. I mean local HD channels. From 480i to 1080i. I did not expect that. I also bought the Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-ray Disc player. Because of the Anynet+, just plug it in to the TV, set the time and it is good to go. All Samsung's Anynet+ will marry together without any problems.
What's great about it: The set up, very simple, the picture quality is excellent, the sound is good, and the Anynet+
What's not so great: It could have a few hundred dollars cheaper

Have been looking for a new 40 inch TV several months, after looking at many different models this was the best TV for the price. Very happy with this TV and would recommed to to anyone looking for a similar TV.

I purchased this tv for my new apartment. I wanted a 40" tv that was not too expensive and had a good picture. I set it up a week ago and I am very pleased with it. I have not had to make any adjustments because it has a nice crisp and clear picture right out of the box. The sound is also very good. My only problem is that there is only 1 video input. I have a surround sound system and a DVD player that are a few years old. I also have a Nintendo Wii system. In order to connect all three items to the tv, I have to unplug the video input of the DVD player so that I can plug in the video input of the Wii because there is only 1 video input. (Kind of annoying) But this problem will be easily solved when I purchase some component video cables. If you are looking for a great general use tv this is the perfect choice.
What's great about it: Clear, crisp picture, easy to set up

The TV is great. The picture quality is really good. I don't have HD tv and it still looked good. Nothing to complain about there. The sound at first was not that great. I figured I needed to get a stereo system to hook up to it, but I got used to it and now it's fine. I will eventually get surround sound, but without it, you still get OK sound. I would definitely recommend you getting this TV. I'm loving it.

I love this television. The picture quality is great. However, it could stand a little more volume. Also, the touch panel doesn't light up making it hard to turn the television off/on in the dark without the remote. This can be aggravating. Other than that I think this is a great television.
What's great about it: picture, set up, price, quality

Pros: I recently bought this tv with best buy's 36 month same as cash program, which is an awesome deal, and the tv was a great price ($799 in 6/09)! I am just blown away with the color and clarity of the images i receive. I have hd cable and it really brings out the tv's potential. the set up was quick and painless, and even when the tv is not on it is still beautiful.
In betweens: I have heard several complaints about the audio from the tv, but i run mine through a receiver anyways, so there are no problems. the audio and video are always perfectly in sync which is great.
The only feature i think is lacking is that there is only 1 component in port. i have a ps2 and wii that each have component cables, so i went out a bought a cable that has multiple ends for multiple devices which works great. i have not yet upgraded to an hd receiver, so everything goes to the tv. however, if you have a decent hd receiver, the limited inputs will no longer be a factor and you will only be limited by the inputs on your receiver.
Cons: I have no bad news with this tv. the only time to audio or the video lag, it is a cable transmission problem. when watching movies or playing games, there is never any lack of quality.
What's great about it: Picture clarity, color and contrast

We purchased a Samsung TV 17 months old and wish we would of bought another Sony. The panel on our TV went out and it will cost $1,000 to repair. The TV is out of warranty by only 5 months. A $1200 TV should last more than 17 months. We have several Sony's that are over 10 years old that still work great. We contacted Samsung and they will not provide any assistance. We purchased our first Samsung product after hearing all the great reviews. We were dead wrong and will purchase another Sony to replace this defective Samsung. Samsung produces poor quality products and has poor customer service.
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: Poor Quality - TV won't last 2 years
