Do not buy this!! I bought this in April 2012 and have nothing but hassles with it since (now 10/12). It has constantly frozen up, cannot tune over the air stations and has had to be reinstalled multiple times. I just purchased a new Dell with 8 GB RAM 3210 CPU and it still does not work. It finally totally died tonight and cannot find any cable stations or tune in antenna stations. I am tired of reinstalling it. Do not buy this piece of junk!!

I used to have the previous version 950, it worked fine. But as my cable company modified it's channel lineup I lost my favorite channels. I bought the 950Q to be able to watch the channels I lost. The 950Q is simply worthless as a ClearQAM viewer. My pc far exceeds all minimum requirements, I have tried every release of drivers available, I have tried multiple resolutions, and at best I can watch about 2 minutes of nice clear TV before it goes wack! I have read the manufacturers FAQ and tried whatever seemed applicable. If you plan on using getting one of these for ClearQAM, check the other reviews, anyone that gave this good marks is not using it for ClearQAM viewing!
What's great about it: Just as good as throwing $80 out a car window!
What's not so great: Worthless as a ClearQAM device!

Good product for the money. very limited for channels on cable, most channels are encripted. Great for transfering old video from tape to computer and movies from DVR, but you will need editing software. Is a little difficult to understand with directions, basically all trial and error.Very good for copying movies for kids.
What's not so great: Instructions are not very detailed, leaves you guessing

I bought this just as an extra TV while sitting in front of my computer. It installed easily and gives you a basic tv tuner, but nothing fancy. Don't count on the remote to do anything for you. Mine quit working the second time I used it and it is so small, it is not very functional. Overall, it does what I wanted it to do, although it could be a little cheaper for a basic tuner.

I bought this product so I could display a game console on my PC during talks about game development. For that purpose, with a few tweaks of some hidden settings, it works.
The software crashes on launch more times then it works. It is really slow to start and forces a reboot to properly close. However, once it's up, it works for the purpose I bought it.
If I needed a reliable solution, I wouldn't buy this product. I don't know how it works as an HDTV tuner, because I have not interest in that.
What's great about it: When it works, it works
What's not so great: Takes forever to get it to work.

First off...the software is not compatible with Vista. You'll get an error that says "Tool for creating autoplay cd and dvd discs has stopped working". So you can pretty much kiss WinTV goodbye because there is no way around this. Hauppauge's support was no help either...they suggested that I disable the autoplay feature and install the software first directly from the CD's "setup.exe" file, and if that didn't work then to download the software and the most recent drivers from the support page at their website. Well...neither worked. I spent two days scouring the internet for any solutions and I haven't found any that worked. The tuner itself will work with Windows Media Center, but you have to add the Media Center plug-ins from Hauppauge's website, but it is important to note that you FIRST must set up a digital antenna signal BEFORE you set up the cable or satellite signal. Basically, you have to run the setup twice. This is very frustrating because you have to have the correct drivers installed and you can't just install them from the CD because of the problems mentioned above...you have to install them from their website.
So...the tuner does work, but it will ONLY give you HD channels that are broadcast locally. So if you have HD channels on cable or satellite, then you are out of luck. The recorder works fine, but it is very limited because of the software conflicts....(It's more of a hassle than it needs to be.)
Overall, I think Hauppauge needs to work out the kinks for Vista. It's not worth the headache trying to get this product to do what it says it does.
What's great about it: It works...if you're a computer programmer.
What's not so great: Conflicting drivers, bad software, a big headache!

I bought this hoping to use it not only for TV but also for playing my Xbox 360 through my laptop. While it does theoretically work, the connection is so slow and choppy it is not playable. The TV aspect works ok.. it lags a little also. And it doesnt matter what type of PC you have, it's going to be slow. I know this b/c my laptop is state-of-the-art ultra fast gaming rig and yes it did have usb 2.0. Still very slow and choppy on the video.
What's great about it: TV works ok...
What's not so great: Not a great solution for video-in, in general
