LOVE this workout. It was my first workout game I purchased for the Wii which was given to me for Christmas. As an X-Bike (like spinning only harder) instructor I teach class up to 4 times a week for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. I needed something I can do on my off days where I am not in a gym and don't feel like going for a 5 mile run. This was perfect! I definitely pump it up by bouncing/skipping from foot to foot vs. stepping but this is the difference I need. It works my inner thighs, my abs, my arms and I feel like I could actually hold my own in a boxing match (ha, j/k). The other thing that keeps me going is the more points I get the more stuff I unlock like new music, instructors, workouts, and clothes to buy and change to. It's awesome!
What's great about it: Great workout!
What's not so great: Ab workout options are limited

you can really get a good sweat going with this game if you put in the effort! the instructional levels are boring, but you have to get through them to play the rest of the game, and it teaches you to do the moves correctly. (it really doesn't take too long) after that, time flies by so quickly; the first time playing i didn't realize i'd been at it for an hour, and was just burning up a sweat! the instruction is easy to follow, and they track your 'hits' and 'misses' as well as the total number of punches you've thrown. i'd think this game would be good for all ages. it's easy to catch on, and you can put as much or as little into it as your body permits. i bought this game based on the reviews, and was not disapointed.

This is an excellent & fun work out. I didn't expect much but was amazed at how hard I had to work to keep up. I got sweaty and breathless right off the bat. The second time I did the work out I wore a heart rate monitor and my heart rate was up in the 170s at times. Also, I was sore for like 3 days after the first time I played this game --- I think that is a very good sign!
What's great about it: really great work out
What's not so great: takes awhile to unlock the cool stuff

Purchased this two days ago and I was pleasantly surprised at the workout the game gives. Note this is not a game but a boxing workout. First and foremost if you have two Wii Motes PLEASE USE THEM as the nunchuk smacks you in the face or gets tangled for brief moments while hooking and uppercutting...however that being said it is still totally useable with the nunchuk as i havent bought another Wii mote yet.(just got the console for xmas). and this minor annoyance will not deter me from continuing my workout.
The rest of this review is just personal preferences or challenges you may face: *The "mini" games the jumprope...Man i couldnt get a groove going to save my life on this one. Once i jumped 90 times i was happy! then couldnt do it again may b operator error..SMH. * Wish the segments were longer to keep heartrate up but still ok with the small breaks. *Wonderful workout keeps your interest every muscle in my upper body hurt after the first day and i bounce a little extra just to keep in aerobic mode overall i love this and would love for a cardio boxing martial arts workout or a version two for this one!!
What's great about it: ease of learning, effectiveness, music/scene selection

I'll start with the cons. When you initially start the game you've got to learn all the different punches & footwork which is slow and boring. I guess that's something you just have to expect from all games...but it's tedious nonetheless! Onto the pros...once you've learned how to throw punches like a heavyweight champ & you finally get to the workouts you will get a good workout***as with all games - IF you put the effort in.**** If you're just going to stand there flailing your arms around enough to register on the motion sensor then why even bother? Working out isn't fun, but playing games while doing it has made it the most bearable for me...so buck up and throw 'em like you mean it...and you'll get a good cardio workout in for the day!
What's great about it: Definitely broke a sweat
What's not so great: Takes a bit to get to actual workouts

Gold's Gym gives you a good workout. Admittedly I am 60 years old so my good workout might not be the same as a 20 year old. You have to like boxing! The workouts have you rocking back and forth to music while you are punching and ducking. I really enjoy it.
What's great about it: Gives you a good workout in a short time.
What's not so great: Haven't really found anything

I purchased this game during Christmas. I had been working out with the Wii Fit plus since Christmas 2009 and that had gotten old and I came across this game in the store and wondered how much of a workout it would actually provide and this really does work your upper body, lower body, stance, endurance, coordination and overall build. The intro levels are a bit boring but once you start unlocking the intermediate and advanced levels you can get a hardcore sweat going and feel a burn. This definitely a workout game more so than a social entertainment game both sexes will thoroughly enjoy and as a male it shows results. I enjoy it and some of the workout sessions are actually 13-15 minutes long. I'm glad I made the purchase.
What's great about it: Productive Workout and easy to follow along
