Good, but display (controls) confusing

I like it, but...
I have not used it much, yet.
I have three Class 6 32gb cards and four Class 4 16gb cards.
The icons for whether it is recording seem reversed.
- The RED dot means it is recording - The GREEN symbols mean it is paused.
Whatever happened to RED means STOP, GREEN means GO.
During a trip to the beach for 4th of July, I shot about 12 segments of my wife and the grandkids, before I left it recording accidentally. The rest of the day I had it stopped when I thought I was recording, and recording when I thought it was stopped. Got all sorts of great shots of upside-down butts as I walked along the beach with my arm hanging.
Why can't they simply display flashing REC when recording, and PAUSED when paused, like older camcorders. Or a flashing "R" and a steady "P".
Also, do not use the FULL FORMAT function on a 32GB memory card, if you don't have a full charge on your battery.
32gb take awhile to fully format.
If the battery dies in the middle of the process, the memory card is trashed. You will no longer be able to get the card to be acknowledged by ANY reader device (camera, PC, external reader). Just kiss that money goodbye.
Cons: Difficult to use, the recording icons seem reversed, needs 'rec' and 'paused' vs red dot/green symbol, don't full format a card with low battery
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too complex to use

Captures great videos and pictures, however very difficult to burn the video on a media or manage it on the computer. The manual offers very little help and the supplied software is not intuitive at all. Transferring to computer is not plug and play. i did not install the software before hooking it up for download on computer and ended up loosing all my videos...the memory had to be formatted again for the camera to work. very little information is available on how to manage the movies, the different formats and what media to use etc
Pros: Accurate, Vivid Colors, Compact Design, excellent image quality, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, Easy TV Connectivity
Cons: Difficult Computer Connectivity, Difficult to use, Limited Software Compatibility
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was not happy with this. Camcorder does not allow you to insert card into computer and watch videos. You have to use the camcorder, the usb cable, and the power cord. don't try to video tape something, and then go over to your friends house and plug the card into their computer - it won't work. you need the usb cable, and the power cord. Very Frustrating!
Pros: Compact Design
Cons: poor video download
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband bought this Cannon VIXIA HF200 camcorder for me for my birthday last year. He picked this on e because it claimed it was easy to use. That is not true. But that's not the problem, the included software bundle is. I can not figure out how to get the videos I have shot off the card and on the computer. I am sick of loseing my videos wich are memories of things that life just doesn't replay so you can shoot them again like a retake!
Pros: Compact Design, excellent image quality, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold
Cons: Difficult Computer Connectivity, Difficult to use, Limited Software Compatibility
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After spending way too much on this camcorder... I find out I can't get my video onto anything useful without spending a bunch more. Even if you want to backup your recordings in normal defintion, you have to deal with a little window in the bottom right of the video you can't get rid of. I'll never buy anything Canon makes again.
Pros: excellent image quality
Cons: Difficult Computer Connectivity, Limited Software Compatibility, can't backup the hd videos
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Getting used to the various setting took a while. The USB connection is inconveniently located underneath the wriststrap. The software is very basic, connection directly to a peripheral is not available. However, picture quality is ver sharp, colors are good.
Pros: Accurate, Vivid Colors, Compact Design, excellent image quality, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, Easy TV Connectivity
Cons: Difficult Computer Connectivity, Limited Software Compatibility, connecting to the computer is cumbersome, no direct transfer to pheripheral
I would recommend this to a friend!
