Trash Compactor Looks Better than it Performs

The compactor is very stylish looking but performance is lacking and not user friendly. The Door swings open rather than slides out which is an issue with the surrounding cabinetry. It is difficult to determine if the load is in compact mode consequently trash can be disposed 'on top of" the compacting element. The special bags are expensive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Trash Compactor

I purchased all new electrolux appliances expecting top of the line equipment for the price I paid. The trash compactor broke within the first 3 months. It had to be uninstalled and taken back to the shop for repair. It still will not compact a tissue box it is nothing more than an expensive garbage can. The refrigerator makes all kinds of noise and does not make enough ice for more than 3 glasses of drink. The double ovens are fine but the dishwasher does not effectively clean dishes unless it is set on heavy. What a disappointment.

I do not like the swing door at all. My old one pulled out and you dropped your trash in, this one you have to open and then pull out the drawer. My husbands hates it compared to the old one we had. Do not like the places you push to get it to compact. You can not hardly see them. Just not a good design.

Not User Friendly but Quiet

I have had this for 6 months now and have owned many other compacters before. This one is not user friendly at all. The first and biggest issue with it is that it requires TWO steps to open it. The first is that you have to open the door (using your dirty hands with trash) and the 2nd is that you have to then pull out the trash canister (again with dirty, full hands). Then you have to push it all back in with dirty hands. The 2nd issue is that opening it conflicts with the other cabinets around it. So, you can't open the drawers or doors next to the compacter because the door swings open in front of it. ALWAYS have a conflict with this! Lastly, the trash compacter bags are a special and very expensive purchase and don't even have 4 corners to tie together like less expensive over the counter bags have. If I had done my research I would have never purchased this but now I am stuck with it. I will say that it is quieter than other models I have had and it does compact fine enough but those positives don't make up for it's shortcomings. Just get something else.

completely remolded my kitchen and this is the compactor i selected and it is awful compared to my old one. the side door does not work with the rest of the cabinets it does not compact well and i am just finding out i must have to order your bags because none of the over the counter i bought for my previous compactor will work. i wish i could send it right back to you!!!

Problems with the 15" Compactor

I purchased a new Electrolux Compactor in January of this year. About a month ago it stopped working. The repairman contacted Electrolux and decided on parts replacement. The replacement parts were installed and it still did not work. Other parts were ordered to no avail. I am completely discusted with this machine and will never purchase another Electrolux product.

Wouldn't be without one!

We have always had a trash compacter in our homes. The Electrolux model is great! It is amazing to see how well and compact the trash can actually get! Also, the stainless steel is easy to keep clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!
