i had this barely over a year. of course out of warranty and the touch screen doesnt recognize it certain areas, so you can no longer type in an address. it is durable because it falls of the windshield all the time. so the suction cup isnt very good either. i will probably never buy a garmin again. honestly the iphone gps is easier to use then this, and would probably last longer.
What's great about it: decent at first
What's not so great: didnt last long.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I always wanted to have my own GPS. I was very happy ,when I received it as a gift on Christmas. I drive my teenage daughter all over the town for her sport's activities and friends' birthday partys. However, lately my GPS has problems accessing satellite services and mostly, in the very unknown places and very unexpectedly. I feel like I have to go back to map quest for directions prier to jumping into my car. I can not trust my Garmin any more...how sad...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What can you say about a GPS receiver that can't find anything? This piece of junk hasn't found a single address that I've entered, instead locating addresses a few houses away. It can't even locate my home address, when I'm standing in my driveway. All this after i updated it with the latest maps!
This thing is a piece of garbage, and you'd be well-adised to stay away from it. Junk! Garbage! Toy!
What's great about it: Strong Suction Cup for attachment to windshield
What's not so great: Can't find addresses
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Garmin was worth every penny! I haven't had any problems with it as of yet. The navigation is easy to read and easy to follow. We have compared our friend's TomTom to our Garmin and there is no comparison! Garmin is the way to go!! ...And you definitely can't beat the price!
What's great about it: Great product for the price, easy to use in comparison to other GPS models
What's not so great: Still dont' have a complaint
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very easy to use right out of the box. Maps do not appear to be up to date even with the one time free update from Garmin. Used this unit to reach Fedex Field in Maryland and unit would tell us to turn AFTER we passed the exits. Sitting in my own driveway the unit will tell me that my home is 200 feet away. My in-laws home is .one tenth of a mile off. Sales associate thought it was the unit so I exchanged it but the new one is just as bad. I am going to return it and buy another brand. Sorry Garmin but I don't need any help floundering around in an unfamiliar place. I can do that all by myself.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: not accurate
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I used this GPS unit for a trip from Massachusetts to North Carolina and back. It did a lot of strange stuff. Kept telling my to turn onto a closed off I-95 HOV lane that had traffic going the opposite way. Had one stretch where it had me exit the highway, follow a street with red lights that ran 50 yards beside the highway and parallel to it and then in 2 miles told me to get back on the highway. Worst scenario was when I was back in familiar territory on the way home at 4AM. It provided direction that would have added 20-30 miles to the trip. Glad I knew where I was going because it sure didn't!
What's great about it: Looks pretty
What's not so great: Will get you lost!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The product purchased online was identical in model number to the units in the retail locations, however the product I received from bestbuy.com was a 2008 version of the Garmnin 255WT (even packaging different than what you will see at a bestbuy retail location). Very unsatisfied since I was not expecting to get a gps that was almost 2 years old.
What's great about it: Looks nice
What's not so great: Best buy will send you an older version of this model if you purchase it online.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
