It has some very nice extras. But unless you know where your at to begin with its no help. It wants you to always find the following route. I thought thats why i bought it. To find the route for me?
What's great about it: the extras
What's not so great: it gets close but makes you find the route

I bought this today at best buy for 129.99 After using a tom tom for the last year that keeps taking me off the highways to take smaller roads and has no traffic updates, this model does. Too bad it DOA out of the box. I doubt i will get another Garmin or Tom Tom. Sure wish that the iphone would release a better GPS app for the iphone .
What's great about it: Wouldnt work out of the box. Keeps telling me im in Chicago when im in NY
What's not so great: Cant get it to work at all. Maybe its defective i dont know

Fair GPS

Bought it to use on trip to Europe and especially in Rome. In actual operation, was had for it to find satilites in the narrow streets with tall buildings. Caused us to get lost walking around. Might have been better in a car but I'm not sure. If you're in an area with narrow streets and/or tall buildings, I'd be carefull with this one. May apply to other GPS units as well. Disappointed in unit because of this. the "virtual GPS" didn't seem to fare much better. Also, was very hard to see in the sunlight. Even with screen at full brightness, it was a little hard to read. Appears to be made more for cars than walking around.
What's great about it: Lots of good features
What's not so great: doesn't work well around tall buildings - won't pick up satilites
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My product was a nightmare. would re-calculate during use.. freeze during use where you just had to turn it off and start over.
last week I spent an hour trying to get directions to one location because it kept stopping at 57%. This has been a horrible unit and I will be returning it for another product.
What's not so great: everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used my 255WT only 4 times and it has locked up and frozen on the areement screen. I cannot find any online help.

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 255WT which advertised as Life time Traffic updates in it , But when i opened the box it appeared to be as Garmin Nuvi 255W model and no traffic updates in it.
I registered the device on the garmin website still I did not find any Traffic module coming up.
If you are looking for traffic module then better avoid this GPS.
What's great about it: Ok Navigation
What's not so great: No Traffic module
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this gps after breaking my sony gps and had to take it back once and will have to take back this one too. The first one I got I put it on the mans voice and it sounded like the speaker was dying so I changed it to the womens voice and the speak kept going in and out. Took it back and got the same one and the mans voice sounds better but now both voices the speaker goes in and out. Not really happy with this gps and now searching for another brand.
What's not so great: mans voice sounds like the speak is dying and the womens voice keeps going in and out
