I compared many different gps's and found this one to be the best for the price. It has all the features i need plus others. It's super easy to use and the traffic reports help occasionally. The only problem i've found is that it can take a while to find a POI when you search by name. Other than that it is a very nice gps.
What's great about it: Big widescreen, easy interface, free lifetime traffic, text to speech

It is my first GPS system and I haven't been happier. However, there is one minor flaw... It might send you the wrong direction. The other day I wanted to see if it would work to a popular place in town. It said take a right and the place was on the left.
What's great about it: It says the street names, and recaculates according to construction.
What's not so great: It might send you the wrong direction.

Ended up exchanging Garmin 255WT unit for another same unit under the protection plan we purchased. Glad we bought protection plan this time. Unit work okay except that on 2 long distance trips down major highways, it wanted to inexplicably take us off the major highway multiple times during the trip. Couldn't figure out reason why. Wasn't for traffic or construction. Then unit wouldn't accept free download of latest maps. Maybe the unit was defective--we have a new unit with the latest maps already installed, so hopefully it'll work better. Otherwise, nice unit vocie and screen wise. I expect we'll be satisfied with the unit.
What's great about it: Easy to read screen
What's not so great: Unit wanted to repeatedly take us off main course

You know people can find the funniest things to complain about. "The voice sounds robot like" Dauh! Thats what it is, is it not? It has several accents to choose from. The speaker does not distort. I read every review out there in this price range. Went to Best and bought it. I like it. It does the job. Probably all of them will have a quirk every now and then. I'm new to this so this one gets me there.

I used it on a long trip right after buying it and it almost never failed me. I never had trouble getting a signal and I was satisfied with the voice and the screen is very clear. There were a couple of mistakes but not big ones. Once when making a run to Mcdonalds while on vacation it said that McDonalds was ahead on the right but it was on the left. No big deal, it's kind of hard to miss the golden arches. At least it got me to the location. Another time while traveling between Charlotte and Myrtle Beach it list the wrong speed limit on a section of road. It said it was 45 but the posted speed limit was 60. I wasn't relying on it for speed limits any. I bought it at best buy for $179 but now I see they are selling it for $219. Glad I got it when I did.
What's great about it: Works great. Got me out of some traffic back ups. Screen and voice are fine.
What's not so great: Doesn't know some new secondary roads.

This GPS is awesome. I bought one today at the local Best Buy and unboxed it in my car. It was setup in literally two minutes and was ready to travel anywhere in the USA (didn't try anywhere else in North America). I had no clue how to get to my brother's new place and typed in his address; within about five seconds a route was mapped and I was being told where to go by the built-in voice I call "Rosalita".
Rosalita guided me to my brother's house in no time.. features are great, presets are very useful, and ability to add points of interest and a home location are key.
Definitely check this out if you're looking for a sub-$200 GPS. The Best Buy I went to had two boxes; one combo package for $250 with a dashboard stand, window suction mount, A/C adapter and a few other things, and also $199 package with just the GPS unit and a window suction mount. So, know what you want before going in!
Great GPS. The ONLY con I have found so far is this: If you're going to, say, Main St., and there's a parking lot RIGHT next to Main St., the GPS will sometimes guide you into the parking lot and then recalculate the route from there. Obviously, this can be avoided by just looking at road signs.
What's great about it: Setup and ready to use in less than five minutes
What's not so great: Voice sometimes guides you into parking lots if they are very close to a street you're supposed to turn onto

I have not had this devise for long but I must say it is top notch. For one the ease of set up on the device is the easiest that I have ever used. I like that the first thing when touching the screen it says where to no confusing stuff that makes no since. I previously bought a Nextar the device was hard to use and very confusing on the directions, where as the garmin makes it much easy to understand where your next exit is. When you first enter the free way it says that your next exit is like for instance exit 1006 south and it is on the right. Nextar's was not as clear. I would get this device!!!!!
What's great about it: Easy to set up, Easy to use
