I've had this since Oct 2010. I've used it in many part of the country with no problem. Always worked with no problems. Directions are very easy to follow. I would still have it if it weren't for my dufus friend who lost it when I asked them to hold on, after getting out of the car. I am purchasing another one. Thats how much I liked it.

This was the first GPS I've purchased and after some research and helpful advice from friends I chose this model. It's affordable, easy to use and intuitive, and the qwerty keyboard makes punching in addresses extremely easy. So far I've had no problems with it whatsoever.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Doesn't come with a USB cable to hook up to PC (minor issue)

I have owned two Garmin GPS units now. The first one, high end model, stopped working after about 6 months. Sent in and Garmin sent out a temp replacement until my unit was repaired. Great service and no complaints. The new one I purchased, the 255WT, has been very good unit. The traffic alerts are sometimes not very accurate, or give a delay in the 1 minute range which in my area is no traffic. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend this unit and am considering buying another one for my foreman.
What's great about it: Work great and have experienced no problems
What's not so great: Traffic alerts are not very realiable

I bought this before Christmas, as a replacement for my older Navigon GPS that was playing out , this is the 2nd GPS device and first Garmin I have purchased ...and have used it alot since I got it, it is very easy to use and it gets me where I'm going but I have a big problem with how easily it loses it's Sattelite reception. It does it quite often, especially the last time that I used it. I am not too sure that I would go with a Garmin again.
What's great about it: easty to use, price, accurate directions

The unit worked fairly well, but it was very apparent to me that this unit was designed just well enough for it to go out of warranty, and then it completely falls apart.
1. The battary was the first to go. 2. Next the software updates stopped working as they should. 3. Finally the screen stopped working.
If you want this unit "for years of use" DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!

I've seen a couple other GPS systems. This one is just as good, if not better then even a built in Volvo navigator. I found it very easy to use. It finds satellites quickly unless you're in a basement. The estimated time of arrival has been spot on and very useful when calling ahead to family. I love the next turn graphics because it saved me many times from missing turns that, without this unit, I would have missed or turned too early. I just wish the prices would come down a bit so I could afford one for each driver in the house. But overall, I love this unit.
What's great about it: Upcoming turn grahics, ETA, ease of use.
What's not so great: a tad bit pricey, but isn't everything

I had Garmin 660 before I got the 255wt. The 660 had a clearer speaker then the 2255wt. When at %70 the 255wt is hard to hear, at %100 it sounds like someone is talking the Tin Foil. I exchanged one already thinking it was a bad unit, Now I think its just the speaker they are using on the 255wt. I am thinking of returning it and getting a different GPS from some other company. Time will tell I have time to return it after taking it out on a long trip over the weekend with a driver of 200+ miles from home. I will see how it goes, but as of now it does not look to good.
What's great about it: Lightweight, Work well on reroutes
What's not so great: The Speaker is either to hard to hear when low or hard to understand when hi.
